Medical
- Worked at Golden Health Pharmacy and Medical Clinic in Elko, Nevada for four summers and gained valuable experience in
both the pharmaceutical and medical field.
- Interned at the Verterans Affairs Medical Hospital in Boise, Idaho and shadowed in the intensive care unit, out patient clinic, and
medical student rounds.
Research
- Studied the effects of the environmental toxin cadmium on bone health over a period of four years and presented research at the
annual College of Idaho Student Research Conference
- Attended the national Society of Toxicology Conference in Salt Lake City and gained a better understanding of current research.
- Participated in a research expedition to the Florida Everglades and observed the changes in the natural environment resulting
from human impacts.
- Researched the differences in vital capacity in singers vs. non-singers as part of an independent study in a human physiology
course.
VOLUNTEER AND PHILANTHROPY
- Participated in a mission’s trip to New York City, volunteering in various soup kitchens and after school programs while
learning the various dimensions of poverty in the five boroughs.
- Volunteered at the Light House Rescue Mission in Caldwell, Idaho serving dinner to the homeless.
- Organized annual Derby Days Philanthropy event on the College of Idaho campus to raise money for the Children’s Miracle
Network.
- Organized annual Miss C of I Pageant event on the College of Idaho campus to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
