OBJECTIVE

Seeking a position as an operations technician / safety and health

coordinator for a well established company. I am interested in becoming a

team player to maintain all safety and health objectives as derived from

company policies. To update and incorporate all safety training objectives

for specific job functions within the corporate structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

I have a background in the chemical field to include the development and

production of coatings and resins for automotive, industrial and

residential applications. Within this scope of work included the continuous

applications of industrial safety, personal protective equipment,

industrial firefighting and hazardous material response.

In my most recent job activity my job title was Operations Technician /

Safety Coordinator. Within this field my core of responsibility was in the

training of employees for the operations of the equipment that we build to

produce biodiesel. This included all safety aspects from process

development, employee training, and writing safety policies in accordance

with Federal, State and OSHA guidelines. My initial job task was to write

and incorporate company safety policies, SPCC Plan and Hazardous Waste

Policy. I was in charge of all incoming materials and shipping of materials

in accordance with DOT regulations.

I posses a strong mechanical background and the incorporation of design

flow through process piping, pumps, valves etc...Within the team I was

significant in recommendations and procurement for specific equipment

applications in regard to material specifications based on pressure, flow,

material compatibility and safety applications.

Oversea the process development in coordination with Development

Engineers,

to incorporate all safety aspects to development design and concept.

The training of third party personnel in regards to the operation of

CTI BioChemicals manufactured equipment for biodiesel production.

The written and implementation of company policies in regards to the

workplace environment concerning environmental health and safety.

Safety revues and job hazard analysis for existing and new functional

processes.

Hands on mechanical building of the equipment per design

specifications.

Waste management to include hazardous waste control and disposal.

Chemical disposition to include the correct storage applications of

specific chemicals and to maintain all handling criteria as per the

MSDS.

PPG Industries

Operation of chemical pressure reactors for the production of

various types of coatings and resins. In process chemical sampling and

analytical analysis to ensure material quality. Material handling of

chemical compounds both liquid and dry utilizing fork lift trucks. In

process troubleshooting of batch processes and ability to correct

performance upsets to ensure product quality and equipment efficiency.

General maintenance included the repair of process pumps, valves and

piping.

Industrial plant protection included industrial firefighting and

hazardous material response, spill containment, decontamination and

equipment restoration.

Member of the Waste Minimization Task Force which included the

utilization and processes to reduce, reclaim and recycle solvents,

distillate and water from batch manufacturing. Worked closely with

Chemical Engineers to provide a clear understanding of the equipment

and material processing parameters to provide effective and efficient

use of equipment and time.

Machinery Technician Third Class. Training included; Machinery

Technician School, Maritime Law Enforcement School, Outboard Motor

Maintenance School and Firefighting School.

Duties included; preventive maintenance of diesel and gasoline

internal combustion engines, generators, shipboard reduction gears,

desalination units, heat exchangers and oily water separators. Aircraft

firefighting and rescue, residential firefighting and rescue, shipboard

firefighting and rescue. Environmental control and hazardous material

response in regards to marine mishaps by accidental or weather related

incidents.

Volunteer Firefighter July 1977 - Present

Hilltop Hose Co. #3

Volunteer firefighter for the past 32 years and have served proudly

with Hilltop Hose Co. #3 for the past twenty years. I have had the

privilege to serve as Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Captain, Safety

Officer, and Chaplain. I am currently serving as Trustee. I have

obtained a multitude of training certificates to include national,

state and local certificates.
