Objective; To continue with my progression in the automotive and
manufacturing industry by staying involved with Continuous Improvement,
Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Total Quality Management, and employee
involvement. I will be employed with a company who uses these principles to
stay a step ahead of the competition. While my most recent job history is
manufacturing sales, I also have previous experience in telemarketing
selling credit cards and supplemental insurance as well as in collections.
Experience; Sept 1999- May 2008 w/ Mid West Fabricating
September 1999-June 2001, worked as a machine operator in most areas of the
plant. Learned all I could about the flow of operations, while at the same
time learning and observing the "people dynamics" side of the business as
well. Stayed vocal about making sure that the operators could be heard and
that they had the chances to become more involved with processes and
decision making- knowing that more empowerment was needed to take our
success as a business to the next level. Was awarded Waste Buster of the
year award for production ideas submitted to help eliminate waste in the
manufacturing processes that I was involved in.
June 2001-Oct 2002, Sales. There were 21 other candidates from outside of
Mid West who applied, all of whom had College Degrees and former sales
experience (of which I had neither). I sold myself well enough to convince
them to give me a trial period in sales. Was awarded the job full time.
Oct 2002-Oct 2003, Sales and Customer service. In October 2002 because of
displaying proficiency at current duties, was also awarded with customer
service on some of the accounts. Continued to stay involve with the
manufacturing and quality departments. Also worked side-by-side with the
engineering, scheduling, and shipping departments.
Oct 2003-June 2007, Sales and Customer service. In 2003 because of
displaying continued proficiency in current roll, was awarded with Sales
and Customer service of all accounts. Also became a lead internal TS
auditor. Was only non-management team member involved in the planning of
our new Lean implementation and restructuring plans that included
involvement of ALL employees. I was the only supplier representative
invited to be involved in Lean events and Continuous Improvement events
with our largest customer because of my knowledge and passion for these
areas. Visited customers to learn about and give input into their visual
Kanban systems. Was involved with the automation of the quoting system
taking it from a manual paper process to a real time pc based process.
June 2007-May 2008, Assistant Plant Coordinator of Rockmill plant in
Lancaster. Because of showing the desire to grow beyond current role, was
awarded Assistant Plant Coordinator position. I am looked upon to be the
"change agent" in the plant, looking for areas to improve, not only from a
production standpoint, but from a culture perspective as well. Did lean
event in tool room area eliminating waste and improving efficiency of
layout. Implemented new time codes to more efficiently track production and
what time was actually being spent on in production. Uncovered and
eliminated waste in setups eliminating hours from each one. Took an
antiquated manual paper certification system and upgraded it and made it
paperless eliminating many hours a month and thousands of dollars in paper.
Was laid off from this job (heavily automotive dependant) and had severance
to last me a few months.
August 2, 2008-September16, 2008 sold coupon books door to door.
Sept. 16, 2008-May 1, 2009 sold furniture and designed rooms at Colonial
Heights furniture
May 2, 2009 Moved to Nashville
May 16,2009- July 2009 sales at United Benefits of America
July 1, 2009- present, Fund raiser for Non Profit Services
Other Points; Participated in the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce
leadership class for 2006/2007. Volunteer for the Bremen Chamber of
Commerce. Coach several sports (I have four children). Am on the Vision
Committee at Bremen First United Methodist Church.
Me; I am creative thinking and well balanced. I am a big picture type of
person who very quickly grasps concepts and I'm not afraid to move forward
without having every last detail spelled out. My philosophy is if you are
doing things for the right reason, and you get to a point you need to make
a decision, go for it. This is how leaders learn. I look forward to the
opportunity for us to learn more about one another.
