With an extensive background in domestic logistics and international import-
export operations, I have cut costs and made sure materials and products
get to where they need to go on time. A hands-on manager, I am recognized
as the company go-to-person for Hazmat issues, regulatory compliance and
indentifying opportunities to streamline supply chain processes. I have
managed budgets to $25M and staff to 150. I can contribute by:
o Reducing transportation and distribution costs
o Identifying and implementing process improvements
o Ensuring full compliance with customs and security regulations
o Meeting demanding objectives and performing against tight deadlines
o Brainstorming ideas to streamline logistics operations
I have completed numerous Hazmat training courses, including Dangerous
Goods International, 49 CFR, IATA and Canadian Hazardous Shipping
Compliance. I have also trained personnel on Hazmat compliance. I completed
management courses at the University of Phoenix and have been certified on
NAFTA global regulations.
Selected Accomplishments
Implemented Warehouse Management System. Oatey looked to replace legacy
inventory management. Picked as lead for project conversion from paper to
the Balanced Operated Storage System (BOSS). Created processes to control
warehouse movement. Decreased order fill time 73% and reduced inventory
errors to near-zero.
Streamlined import supply chain with C-TPAT certification. Customs delays
impacted Oatey logistics process. Enrolled in Customs-Trade Partnership
Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program, earning certifications for Cleveland
port facility and a maquiladora in Mexico. Reduced inspection time and
inventory carrying costs 83%.
Generated $1M savings with online reverse auction. Oatey SCS sought to
reduce freight and transport costs. Initiated live reverse auction, having
shippers compete for truckload and LTL rates. As all bids were displayed
and identified, carriers lowered rates to gain contracts, reducing Oatey
distribution costs.
Revamped international logistics, saving $250K. Oatey logistics was
fragmented and cumbersome. International buyers worked independently with
their own brokers. Saw opportunity to consolidate brokers, using bid
process to achieve better rates. Streamlined processes and reduced first-
year freight costs 22%.
Modified palletized shipments, reducing costs 27%. Relocation of retail
distribution to Cleveland impacted service to Home Depot in the Southeast.
Company used non-standard pallets. Worked with LTL carrier and pallet
supplier to design slave pallets for decked trailers. Doubled carrier
capacity to 100 units, reducing overall costs.
