During my tenure, we raised operational efficiencies 14 and 17%
respectively over the first two years. Bean waste and product fills were
maximized to show positive monetary results in P & L bottom line.
Successfully negotiated and implemented union contracts. Directly
participated in numerous design, purchasing and installations of capital
equipment. The facility maintained positive scores on third party audits as
well as meeting and exceeding customer requirements on quality, packaging
and shipping deadlines. Also we maximized Hydrostatic retort operation and
output.
McKee Foods Corporation

Responsible for the operation and output of finished product on
production lines. Implemented savings of $36,000 per year. Attended
and passed AIB Sanitation and Fundamentals of Baking course. Assisted

Responsible for the development and implementation of a company wide
HACCP program. Coordinated program with NFPA to comply with all
governmental requirements.

Responsible for total quality, sanitation, and accountability of plant
production. Developed training on TQM and HACCP to move plant
structure into compliance with ASI sanitation and manufacturing

automation, and three (3) Continuous Cooker Coolers.
Farm Fresh Catfish Company
Lake Village, Arkansas - 2/90 to 8/93
Plant Manager
During this time period, Farm Fresh Catfish Company was a subsidiary
of Hormel Foods. This position was responsible for the total control
and operation of the plant location and for the procurement and care
of 55+ million pounds of live catfish per year. Maximized operational
throughput of plant from 10 million pounds per year in 1990 to 26+
million pounds per year in 1992, a 146% increase. Reduced turnover
for the period of 1991 - 1993 from approximately 700% a year to less
than 100%. Controlled quality of pack to meet or exceed governmental
and customer requirements. Reduced costs through application of
employee safety and ergonomic programs. Plant maintained a positive
growth mode during my tenure.
United Foods, Inc.
Bells, Tennessee - 3/89 to 1/90
Agricultural Manager
The function of this position was to maximize the output, quantity,
and quality of raw produce furnished to customer's location while
coordinating product needs and expected yields daily with the Plant
Manager. I developed a workable crop potential, cultivated
grower/supplier relations, and acted as their liaison to the company.
Raw products included 58+ million pounds of beans and peas in several
varieties, assorted greens, yellow and green squash, onions, okra and
turnip roots.
Stokely-Van Camp, Inc.
Scottville, Michigan - 3/79 to 3/89
Plant Manager
Responsible for total plant operations, including scheduling raw
products to the location in the desired quality range from 8,000 acres
of contracted green beans, and the purchase of more than 20 million
pounds of green beans on the open market yearly. Also responsible for
retort processing, warehousing, and shipping 3 to 3.5 million cases of
product yearly, along with control and coordination of production
records of the plant operation. Managed eight supervisors and 450
employees. Evaluated quality and quantify of product being harvested,
as well as quality of shift operation. Established and monitored
production runs of varied products. Verified quality levels of line
labeling for brand sales and private label customer orders.
Croswell, Michigan - 4/76 to 3/79
Plant Manager
Packed sweet peas, green beans, lima beans, and red beets in tin and
glass. Reduced production costs on green beans; raised quality of
product during pea packs. Plant closed to consolidate packs at other
locations.
Scottville, Michigan - 6/72 to 4/76
Plant Superintendent
Responsible for shift staffing and operation, plant sanitation,
ordering of all materials and supplies relating to plant operation.
Insured proper sterilization of product processed. Developed plant
maintenance budgets and assisted in accountability records.
Established purchasing guidelines and reorder point controls to meet
statistical breakdown analysis. Initiated cost justification R.O.I.
on purchase and installation of FMC rotary Sterilmatic Cooker-Cooler
with a total savings of 33 positions per shift.
Indianapolis, Indiana - 4/71 to 6/72
Industrial Engineer
Established effective and attainable plant and warehouse operation
standards for eight plants in Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Drew up
machine layouts and developed flow charts. Aided plant management in
cost justification on capital equipment. Developed warehouse
utilization and savings, shipping, and receiving standards. Set up
statistical analysis of problem areas through cost comparison studies.
