CAREER OBJECTIVE
Manufacturing professional seeks key position where skills in Materials
Procurement/Management, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen~Lean Manufacturing) and
Systems Operations will be utilized to enhance short term profit and insure long term
growth.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY
Years of diversified and progressive auto manufacturing management experience.
Demonstrated expertise in efficiency improvement and cost reduction while maintaining
quality and delivery standards. Particularly effective in implementing computerized
control systems, systems design and improvement. Successfully directed Materials
Management, Procurement, Budget Development/Cost Management and New Model
Launch events. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
(Vincent Bach Div. Conn-Selmer, Inc. 2004 to 2009)
First Year cost reduction of $250,000. Raw, WIP and Supplies inventory reduction of
$1,000,000 same period. Implemented Lean Kaizen Environment.
(Grumman Olson Industries Incorporated 1999 to 2003; became Morgan Olson Corp.
2003 to 2004)
• Reduced raw material costs by $125,000 to $400,000 each year 1999 through 2002.
(Summit Polymers, Inc. 1999)
• Design, implementation and control of all systems required to receive Ford Q1 status,
including DDL Communications, 95+ Ford Delivery Rating, MS9000, QS9000 and
SLMS operations systems.
(Lear Corporation, Mendon 1997 to 1998)
• Designed, programmed and implemented a temporary Master Scheduling (Pull-System)
MRP system in a Linked Excel Format that provided efficient operations while JBA
operating system was being designed. This system significantly contributed to a 17 point
gain in the Ford Delivery Performance Rating. Over a five month period supplier
responsible transportation premiums were reduced by 80%. The re-design of inventory
flow, monitoring and storage systems resulted in a 20% reduction in inventory carrying
costs for the Plastics Division.
• Responsible for the certification and implementation of portions of QS9000 and
MS9000 control systems. Full site certification on both systems was awarded and secured
in a period of four months.
(NRB Materials 1995 to 1997)
• Managed a "Green-Field" plant launch and succeeded in commissioning one line/one
product production in seven weeks from first equipment delivery to first production of
product.
• Added additional equipment and products and the plant became profitable in less than
the goal 24 months from conception.
• Secured and maintained a $4.5 million State grant for the initial plant funding for this
34 employee company.
(AutoAlliance~Ford Motor Company 1986 to 1995 )
• Improved system design and implemented Material Management and Manning systems
to the plant Gate-Line departments of Stamping and Body Assembly. Integrated these
systems through subsequent departments to the pay point, completing an effective
centrally controllable plant MRP/LEAN PULL system.
• Coordinated procurement, facilities, processes and assembly to accomplish pilot build
timing; both major and minor model changes.
• Programmed central facility control computer, Series 1 IBM 5500. Created and
maintained broadcast system to assure assembly accuracy and the controlled and timely
implementation of engineering changes.
• Hired and trained staff to achieve demanding launch and ramp-up schedules.
• Scheduled daily production, coordinated material and supply item procurement to
minimize inventory and improve cash flow in monthly variable cost centers.
• Designed process tooling modifications to reduce line cycle time, improve ergonomics
and meet torque certification and safety requirements.
• Controlled capital assets (equipment and tooling) to maximize depreciation and comply
with retirement tax regulations.
• Reduced scrap and cycle loss by 60% using root cause analysis and counter measure
activity initiated from "Cost Kaizen" (continuous improvement) management.
• Improved Manning efficiency in Material Handling 10% by performing time study and
stack chart analysis; yielding a line balance efficiency greater than 90%.
