Resume:

Aloha,

My name is Joe Bala and I am very interested in your position for a Graphic

Designer. My last position was that of a Graphic Design Manager/Web

Designer for a full service design, publishing and advertising company that

seeks to maintain a high standard of quality communication solutions. We

worked on projects from corporate identity, print material, editorial

design (magazine publication - Hawaii.com Magazine & 101 ThingsToDo for 4

of the main Islands), web-site design and presentation formats (Powerpoint)

which forces you to wear many hats and being versatile in this day and age

is important.

I helped coordinate the four magazines of 101 ThingsToDo and the Hawaii.com

magazines for creative & production. I interacted with vendors, clients,

artists and writers. In some instances, I wrote headers and edited some

copy to fit when ads were reorganized for spatial issues. I have worked

with Designers and Videographers from time to time. Learning and adapting

to situations is something that I enjoy and thrive on.

All I seek is an opportunity, to get my feet in the door of a prestigious

company such as yours. I am dedicated to my field and I am knowledgeable

with all aspects of producing quality publications & websites. I am

available for an interview and to show my portfolio (samples can be viewed

at: http://home.roadrunner.com/~bluesnow/bshome.html. I am looking forward

to hearing from you soon and if you have any questions, please do not

hesitate to call me at 808-***-****.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Joe L. Bala

RESUME

Through my several years of experience in design and advertising, I know

the printing process and what has to be done technically for production

through prepress, publications, and the internet which is just as important

as creating the visual imagery and concept. Working with graphic design

studios, advertising firms and clients directly, has allowed me to meet

quite a number of individuals whom I respect and learned from. I believe in

taking a project head on and enjoy a team effort, which is a must in any

business and to accomplish a job well done.

As an Art Director and Graphic Designer, I have also had the chance to hire

Freelance Designers and worked with them to accomplish the project at hand.

Helping Designers with projects works two folds, they learn from me as well

as I learn from them, which is creatively energizing.

I have done work in Photoshop/ImageReady, Illustrator, InDesign, Pagemaker,

QuarkXpress, GoLive, Dreamweaver, ImageStyler and dabbled in FreeHand,

FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint now and then. I also work

on Flash for website animations and will start to do more on the multi-

media format, this url is my online

portfolio: http://home.roadrunner.com/~bluesnow/bshome.html. Staying on top

with current programs and teaching myself or going to a seminar is always

something I try to do on a regular basis.

Graphic Design has given me challenges on taking on different

responsibilities and projects, as well as being creative in the final

design solution. I am dedicated to my profession, always seeking new

innovations and techniques and know that I can be a valuable asset to any

creative team. Design is a part of my life that I cherish and will continue

to develop well into my future.
