2005-present
Director, Sales & Marketing
. Report to SVP Business Development and team ownership. Lead a staff of
30 in sales and marketing department overseeing all sales and marketing
strategy and execution.
. Directed team that set NFL team record in new season ticket sales with
over 16,000 new season ticket sales in 2010 and a 90% season ticket
renewal rate for a franchise record of over $52MM in ticket sales
revenue. Implemented innovative community-based ticket sales programs
called "Team Teal" and "Jaguars Champions" that supported substantial
ticket sales regeneration in the Jacksonville community following
recession.
. Introduced a departmental sales strategy that established season, group
and premium sales teams. Hired and developed sales talent and supported
sales managers in producing effective sales performance. Increased group
sales from 15,000 to 80,000 seats per season in four years. Direct staff
training and development.
. Developed and implemented new strategies, including personalized renewal
messaging and specific e-messaging, to reduce "churn" and increase
season ticket renewals resulting in 90% renewal rate in 2010.
. Direct a $2MM sales and marketing budget targeted at producing over
$50MM in ticket sales revenue.
. Develop and implement ticket sales planning and forecasts and monitor
progress/identify opportunities through production of ticket sales
analysis and reports. Direct sales managers, drive season, group and
premium ticket sales efforts.
. Develop and implement marketing, advertising and promotional strategy,
directing marketing communications to our ticket owners including sales
messaging and information on jaguars.com, direct marketing,
telemarketing, social media marketing and traditional advertising
campaigns. Protect and develop Jaguars brand.
. Oversee customer database and work to maximize sales opportunities
through database marketing campaigns.
. Develop specific ticket products in response to current market
conditions, establishing new ways to sell including: implementation of
variable ticket pricing, specific game day and premium game pricing,
introduction of extended payment plans, half-season tickets, partial
ticket plans, suite share plans and added-value incentives for season
ticket purchase including "Teal Deals" offering $2,500 of savings for
season ticket owners.
. Recognized by NFL for developing a number of "best practice" models in
sales and marketing.
. Recruited to Jaguars from NFL Europe on O1A "extraordinary ability" visa
to introduce, develop and manage the Jaguars Champions, a grassroots
program which empowered 200 Jaguars season ticket holders to assist the
organization in season ticket sales and renewals within the Jacksonville
community. The program has been responsible for selling over 6,000 new
season tickets in five years and renewing over 20,000. A development of
the program, Team Teal, assisted the Jaguars in selling over 16,000 new
season tickets for the 2010 season.
NFL EUROPE, SCOTTISH CLAYMORES, Glasgow, Scotland
1997 - 2005
General Manager/Commercial Director (2001 - 2005)
. Led a Glasgow-based staff in developing the Claymores into a national
brand and third-best supported sports team in Scotland behind Celtic and
Rangers FC with a fully integrated approach to sales, marketing, PR,
sponsor and partner development. Managed up to 200 staff, directly
overseeing all aspects of the business.
. Directed business growth and development, leading the company to 92%
growth in ticket sales in first year with sustained increases in ticket
sales, sponsorship, corporate sales, media coverage and marketing
exposure over four seasons. Instrumental in increasing fan attendance
from 8,000 to 17,000 while extending fan base to over 40,000 in tough
soccer-driven market. Increased season ticket holders by 200% and
secured $6MM in sponsorship revenue over four seasons.
. Led successful bid process to secure World Bowl XI for Glasgow, Scotland
before going on to direct the NFLEL Championship game which attracted
over 30,000 fans and produced $10MM in partner and sponsorship support.

. Assisted sponsorship department in attracting and retaining a number of
blue chip partners to sponsorships with the Claymores including Coors,
Lufthansa, ScotRail, HMV, Continental Airlines, Southern Comfort, Red
Wing Shoes, Wilson, VisitScotland, Glasgow Tourist Board and Glasgow
City Council, developing multi-year partnerships.
. Controlled annual $2MM expenditure and produced annual revenue in excess
of $4MM.
. Initiated and directed groundbreaking community and school grassroots
programs resulting in over 30,000 pupils attending Claymores games each
season and over 400,000 pupils having contact with the Claymores.
. Successfully negotiated external relations and multi-million pound
contracts with City of Glasgow, the National Stadiums in Scotland
(Hampden Park and Murrayfield Stadium), national sports governing bodies
(Scottish Football Association, Scottish Rugby Union, SportScotland),
television companies (BBC, Scottish TV, FOX, Sky Sports), practice
facilities, vehicle suppliers, hotels and other service providers
