Specialized Classes

News Photography: This course included shooting

assignments such as feature, news and sports as well as a photo story. It

also included working for the Montana Kaimin, the University of

Montana student newspaper.

Native American Honors Project: I was chosen two years in

a row to work on this project as both a photographer as well as photo editor.

The project studies a Native American issue in Montana and publishes a tab

at the end of the semester.

Publication Design: A course that emphasizes page layout

using photos, both single images and photo stories.

Advanced Reporting: The main emphasis of this course was

to cover a variety of events and get a story written under deadline

pressure.

Database Research: This course covered the techniques

needed to research a story using electronic databases.

Other Skills

Computer Skills: Macintosh and PC experience. Also,

extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop, Quark Express, Photo

Scanning and Internet.

Awards: Robert L Wolfe and Myrtle Lord photojournalism awards.

Both are given annually to a journalism student showing outstanding work in

photography. Have also been awarded several state awards during my time

as a staff photographer at The Missoulian.

Work Experience

Owner of BraDel Images: Now running my own photo business

in Alabama, doing weddings, portraits and commercial work. Also available for

editorial freelance work.

Sub-Contract Photographer: NorthWest Sports Photography and

Emerald City Virtual Tours. 2005-2009. Doing sports and real estate photography

in Washington and Oregon.

Staff photographer: The Missoulian Missoula, MT. May

1993-May 2005. Shooting assignments, spot news, features and coming up

with unique story ideas along with doing some ad photos.

Freelance Photographer: The Montana Kaimin ( UM student

newspaper), Montana Living Magazine, and other publications.

Staff Photographer: The Montana Kaimin Oct 1992-Dec

1992. Photographing assignments as well as self-made story ideas.

Staff Photographer: The Kalispell Weekly News, Kalispell,

MT 1990-1992. Doing sports, news, features, wildlife and scenic

photography for a small weekly newspaper. Duties also included some

reporting and ad sales.

Quality control tech: Semitool, Kalispell MT Testing of prototype

electronic equipment.

Surveyor: Canyon Logging Co., Columbia Falls, MT. Surveyed roads

for timber sales.
