Skills & Accomplishments

Having decided to change careers after many years in the

telecommunications customer service/sales industry, I acquired my CDL

A commercial driver's license and completed a Commercial Driving

course at Pinellas Technical Education Center in Florida. This was a

320 hour program with over 1000 documentable highway miles. I

graduated with a 4.00 GPA in my CDL training class and was above the

class average. I am currently a professional CDL A driver with over

60,000 miles.

Personal Experience

I have been driving for over 30 years now and am very safe with no

commercial moving violations.

I have quite a lot of professional driving experience from my time as

a pneumatic tanker driver with CCC and as a permit courier with

Invincible Roofing. I drove all over the state of Florida with both

jobs.

Previous Job Duties

. Drives trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including

tractor-trailer combinations, in order to transport and deliver

products, and other materials

. Checks vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical,

safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order

. Follows all appropriate safety procedures

. Maintains logs of working hours and of vehicle service and

repair status, and submits logs following applicable state and

federal regulations

. Communicates with dispatch personnel regarding load carrying,

type of load and yard arrival utilizing Qualcomm

. Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is

complete and accurate (weight tickets)

. Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following

signals from loading crew as needed; checks that vehicle

position is correct and any special loading equipment is

properly positioned

. Immediately reports to supervisor any vehicle defects,

accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles

. Completes pre-inspection and post-inspection reports and

Individual Vehicle Driving Records (IDVRs)

. Verifies all dispatch information and load information for

equipment that is ready for service

. Mandatory observation of DOT regulations

. Identifies and recognizes changes in circumstances, with

attentiveness to security violations or an emergency situation

. Performs other related duties as required.
