PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Director of Major Gifts. Responsible for developing and executing strategies for obtaining private donations;
developing systematic efforts to identify, solicit, steward, maintain and upgrade annual giving donors; providing for
on-going promotion of planned giving opportunities; overseeing, managing and/or planning advancement events;
collaborating with The Kitchen Foundation Board on annual and special events to increase endowment. Providing
leadership for all external relationship building with a variety of constituencies; working with volunteers and others to
identify linkage, ability and interest of major gift prospects.

Maintaining assigned account bases while developing new accounts, processing all correspondence and paperwork
related to accounts, developing special sponsorship packages for the morning show, writing advertising copy for
customer approval, drawing up contracts for advertising creation and placement, collecting payments due, identifying
and contacting potential clients. Increased morning show revenue from $47,000 to $137,000.

December 1990 – June 1998: Springfield Little Theatre at the Landers, Springfield, MO
Director of Development. Responsibilities included: Raising operational funds through advertising, sponsorships,
memberships, special events. Capital funds through building campaigns, including grant writing and planned giving.
Created an endowment fund with the "Star Walk" campaign. Also responsible for all public relations activities
including media relations, season marketing creation and implementation, curtain speeches, public service
announcements, advertisements and in-kind agreements with other arts organizations and businesses.
