Responsibilities:

Evaluate Air Permit and Synthetic Minor Operating Permit (SMOP) applications for

accuracy and completeness and draft analyses of permit applications which include a

description of the proposed project(s), an assessment of the applicable regulatory

and public participation requirements, calculation of air emissions, proposed

permit provisos, and an assessment of applicable permit fees so that State and

federal regulations/policies are correctly applied.

Evaluate Major Source Operating Permit (MSOP) applications for accuracy and

completeness and draft Statement of Bases and MSOP to include an assessment of the

applicable regulatory requirements and appropriate monitoring, recordkeeping, and

reporting provisos.

Conduct inspections of assigned facilities to determine compliance with applicable

State and Federal air pollution control rules and regulations and permit

conditions.

Enforce air pollution control rules and regulations and permit conditions by

informing supervisors of situations that may warrant action regarding persons or

regulated entities, by recommending to the supervisor the level of action to be

taken, and by drafting the language of the enforcement action so that the violation

is addressed in a timely manner.

Review required reports/submittals in a timely manner to determine the

report/submittal's timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with

regulatory and permit requirements. Track report/submittal deadlines for assigned

facilities to ensure that a facility's failure to submit a report by the required

date is addressed in a timely manner.

Maintain a working knowledge of State and Federal regulations, guidance, and

policies regarding air pollution control applicable to assigned facilities to

ensure that appropriate permitting, compliance, and enforcement activities are

conducted.

Maintain facility files, both hardcopy and electronic (i.e. FileNet), so that all

facility information is current, organized, complete, and readily accessible.

Enter and maintain data in the Emissions Database and STREP Database so that the

information in these systems is current, accurate, and complete.

Provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
