Work History
2009-present Head Trainer & Editor, www.PTexplosion.com
Design, film, produce and upload creative exercise videos for website
which educates and provides serious fitness professionals with elite level
fitness resources via exercise content, expert interviews, and exercise
idea generation tools. Significant self instruction was required in all
areas of internet sales/marketing, computer technology, videography, music
production, and sales writing and audio recording.
2007-2010 Corrective Exercise Specialist/Personal Trainer
Developed and maintained consistent clientele, both corrective
exercise clients as well as advanced levels. Developed creative & unique,
out of the box workouts which focus on "no equipment needed", bodyweight
resistance, with functional style approach. Philosophy centered around
anatomical, scientifically based, corrective movement analysis and teaching
proper exercise technique.
2005-2007 Medical Transcriptionist, Sports Care Physicians
Home-based medical transcription for prominent orthopedic and sports
medicine physicians office.
Designed and implemented therapeutic exercise programs for patients
with post-operative diagnoses such as total shoulder/hip/knee arthroplasty,
rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, and chronic diagnoses such as
biceps/patellar tendinitis, somatic dysfunction, cervical and lumbar
degenerative disc disease. Assisted physical therapists and physical
therapist assistants in all aspects of patient care, objective assessment,
and exercise progression. In addition, acted as the clinical instructor
for the University of Toledo Athletic Training/Sports Medicine program.
Fulfilled various other organizational and management type
responsibilities.
1999-2005 Clinical Athletic Trainer, Sports Care Rehabilitation
Assisted physical therapists with patient evaluation, therapeutic
exercise program design, implementation of therapeutic modalities, manual
techniques, as well as created individualized patient education programs.
Populations included pediatric and geriatric rehabilitation, total joint
arthroplasty, sport specific injury/post-operative rehabilitation,
cervical and lumbar spine somatic dysfunctions, aquatic therapy, and over
use type diagnoses. Worked closely with clinic director and several local
expert orthopedic surgeons. Passionate patient advocate and clinical
instructor for The University of Toledo's Athletic Training Program.
