NC State Chapter of the National Students of AMF (Ailing Mothers,
Fathers, or deceased loved ones) President, (September 2009-present)
. Reactivated the Students of AMF Chapter on campus by
reconstructing the constitution, set a mission and goals for the
chapter, and built a Leadership Team for the chapter.
. Connected students of the campus with an organization that
supported them with their grief
. Organized peer to peer support groups for college students
grieving the death or illness of a loved one
. Researched community service projects for chapter members to
receive further knowledge on illnesses affecting local community
and loved ones
. Planned local Service Projects such as Care Baskets for
Caregivers and Get Your Rear in Gear Walk/Run Event to enhance
member's active role in the chapter.

JOB EXPERIENCE
The National Students of AMF (Ailing Mothers, Fathers, or deceased
loved ones) Chapter Development Intern, Raleigh, NC (January 2010-
present)
. Leader of the creation of a chapter development toolkit that
consists of materials needed by those interested in starting a
campus chapter of Students of AMF.
. Traveled to East Carolina University to collaborate and provided
assistant to the universities' Campus Ministries and Student
Activities Union on how to start a chapter.
Urban Ministries Open Door Clinic Intern, Raleigh, NC (Summer 2009,
120+hours)
. Conducted eligibility screenings to determine whether patients
were eligible for services through one-on-one interviews.
. Prepped weekly clinics through charting, eligibility screening
for required documents (financial income status, certification
of support, and proper tax form documents), created patient
encounter sheets for medical, gynecology, and follow up lab
appointments
. Reviewed charts for daily medication updates on the open door
clinic database
. Scheduled eligibility screening appointments, and new eligible
patient appointments

African American Faith Communities Project Lab Scholar, The African
American Health Disparities Initiative, North Carolina State

. Presented research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium on
"Breast Cancer Awareness: A Culturally Relevant Intervention
Among African Americans.
. Conducted literature reviews on breast cancer, awareness,
African Americans, women, and intervention.
. Analyzed sample paired t-test on pre/post test concerning breast
cancer data.
. Interacted with the Julius Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology
Institute in regards to theatre intervention and breast cancer.
EDUCATIONAL HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE
Hospice of Wake County Volunteer Continual Education Program
. Attend monthly educational programs such as movie dates,
assigned readings discussions, and speaker forums to enhance
knowledge of patient while developing new skills to utilize
during visits.
33rd Annual North Carolina Health Occupations Students of America
(HOSA) State Leadership Conference, Koury Convention, Greensboro, NC
(April 2009)
. Competed in "Prepared Speaking" competitive event on the
national theme topic: "Where One Person's Passion Becomes
Another Person's Hero"
. Fulfilled duties as a Conference Delegate by representing the
membership of North Carolina HOSA through active participation
in the democratic process to pass new HOSA bylaws.
HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE
Alternative Spring Break Health Issues Trip, Guatemala (February 2008)
. Focused on exploring Guatemalan healthcare system which involved
the lack of medical supplies, midwife roles, and disease
awareness
. Worked on various community service projects at clinics in Pet n
and Antigua by stocking medical supplies brought from the
states, and cleaning clinics
. Volunteered at the medical hospital in Antigua by assisting
elderly women bathe, dine, and attend mass.
