The project involves the development of User Interface (UI) touch panel for

the eBridgeX based architecture for Multi Functional Printers (MFP). It

also involves the web interface development for printers which can be

accessed through the intranet. UI touch panel includes Copy, Scan, Fax, E-

filing, Network panels. These panels were implemented with the use of XML

and Xpaths.

Google Web Toolkit (GWT) was the software used for the development of web

interface. Web interface for the MFP is another utility similar to touch

panel where user can modify the printer settings and options from the

intranet browser. Admin can do the Network settings such as user IP address

setting through this interface.

GWT is an open source Java software development framework which helps in

writing AJAX applications like Google Maps and Gmail easy. Writing dynamic

web applications today is a tedious and error-prone process; most of the

Time is spent working around subtle incompatibilities between web browsers

and platforms, and JavaScript's lack of modularity makes sharing, testing,

and re-using AJAX components difficult and fragile.

GWT lets avoid many of these problems. Front end is developed in Java

programming language, and the GWT compiler converts the Java classes to

browser-compliant JavaScript and HTML.
