Microscopy Imaging Technician

Mastered operation of single photon and multi-photon confocal laser

scanning microscopes. Primary duties were to collect digital images at

varying depths of kidney sections to be used for 3-D representations,

detection of disease, and research studies. Used image enhancement and

processing software (Metamorph Image Processing software and Photoshop) to

produce publishable images.

Systems Programmer

*Developed a VB6 client application which submits an HTTP request to post

and get data from a mainframe web server. The data being transferred could

be binary, HTML, or XML. The application enabled the transfer of policy

data and policy rating tables to and from the mainframe.

*Developed a COBOL application to capture, format, and transmit CICS

transaction screen data from multiple, nested transactions (screen scrape).

The data captured was used by server applications and enabled real-time

policy data retrieval from the mainframe to be displayed to Call Center

specialists. By overcoming incompatible communication between the mainframe

data source and the NT server target database, the Call Center was able to

increase production from 100s to 1000s of customers served.

Covance Central Laboratory Services, Indianapolis, IN (9/1993 - 11/1997)

Programmer

Developed MUMPS applications to extract and calculate lab result data,

format the data and generate pharmaceutical lab reports for FDA submission.

Primary duties included report generation, database retrieval and
