Director Worldwide IT Operations (Managed staff of 14 and responsible for a budget of $8M)

• Managed the systems availability and stability by implementing operational metrics, change management,

capacity planning and industry best practices for Borland’s 900 production servers and worldwide Network

components. Improved systems availability to 99% through continuous process improvement and configuration

standardizations.

• Program Managed the Sarbanes Oxley compliance for 2004/05/06. Created and Monitored processes. Met with

C-Level and Big 4 Auditors remediating and implementing processes to comply with SOX regulations.

• Project managed continuous improvement reviews and updates of all production procedures, check-lists, circuit

audits, and bandwidth usage for all domestic and international sites resulting in cost savings.

• Program managed IT Merger & Acquisition teams and integration of 4 companies, doubling Borland’s workforce.

WebMD, Santa Clara, CA 11/2000 - 6/2002

Senior Director Portal Operations (Managed staff of 19 and responsible for a budget of $7M)

• Responsible for Data Center Operations, NOC, Desktop, change management and IT HIPPA compliance.

Improved systems availability, operational strategic planning, renegotiated contracts and other cost containment

methods resulting in $1.5M annual savings in operational costs.

• Project managed the M&A consolidation of 14 companies located throughout the US. Merged all computer and

network operations into 2 data centers.

• Managed and designed upgrades including cabling, electrical and HVAC for Data Center and Development Lab

build-out of a 4000 sqft. data center.

• Project managed and exceeded CEO expectations for the relocation of 10TB EMC Symmetrics data warehouse

from GA to CA, systems were deinstalled, transported and reinstalled over a weekend. This equipment and

software was responsible for $5M monthly revenue for WebMD. Systems up-time being paramount for continued

negotiations and implementation of a $110M contract for the outsourcing of all IT functions.

• Program managed the development of a comprehensive strategic plan, change management and implementation

strategy for the Y2K hardware and software compliance requirements.

• Project managed the upgrade of 22 phone systems nationwide, constructed state-of-the-art Call Centers using

Lucent & Remedy Help Desk software.

• Program managed the integration of legacy applications and infrastructure to a new enterprise wide ERP

environment with PeopleSoft, DB2/NT 2 and 3-tier environment for HR Payroll, AP Financial, and Asset

Management.

• Program managed the strategic planning for conversion, development and implementation to PeopleSoft systems

• Project managed the upgrades from Novell to Microsoft NT replacing 4mb Token Ring network with an ATM

backbone reducing turnaround for product design and manufactures from hours to seconds.

Network and Operations groups and implemented change management.

• Built an IS organization and transitioned all disciplines performing to industry standards within 4 1/2 months.

• Program managed planning, implementation and rollout strategy of Lotus Notes for 3000 clients worldwide.

• Created the first SONY Pictures Intranet utilizing Netscape technology.
