Primary objective: to provide project leadership for the health information management department in mapping,
assessing and improving key operational systems.
Projects:
• Analyzed and redesigned workflows for capturing services provided by physicians in a new
enterprise billing system (Epic Resolute). This included:
Coordinating the introduction of these workflows at 7 new facilities resulting in a 16.5 m increase in revenue
managed by the department. Managing the development of procedures and training for staff and
contractors. Leading a management team tasked with monitoring and supporting the expanded program
areas through project close-out phase.
• Managed a pilot project in cooperation with Group Health Web Services team to develop best
practices for implementing a SharePoint site in an operations department. This project included the analysis,
design, build, launch, and ongoing support of a SharePoint site for three program areas including remote
employees. Developed custom administrative modules for task and issue lists, attendance tracking, and
leave management. Provided training for management and department staff in both classroom and deskside
format
• Created a centralized index and electronic repository for HIM Operations departmental
procedures. Developed a process for identifying new procedures, drafting procedures, incorporating
stakeholder input, and an ongoing revision and approval process
