Major public research university, part of prestigious Association of

American Universities (AAU); annual budget of ~$1 billion, 6,000 faculty

and staff, and 27,000 students.

Recruited by former client to drive university's strategic planning.

Subsequently tapped to lead HR strategy and operations, including

compensation/benefits, labor and employee relations, organizational

development, recruitment, and diversity. Manage 70-person department and

$3.5 million budget; in support of a 6,000 employee university; serve as

key senior advisor to University President.

. Completely realigned university IT, conservatively achieving $5

million in cost savings within 2 years through consolidation,

economies of scale, and new strategic alliances; also developed

business case for and drove full PeopleSoft implementation and change

management.

. Steered unique UB2020 strategic planning process, involving 750+

faculty leaders across 13 schools; delivered plan that now defines

university and serves as basis for faculty recruitment, $362 million

in capital investments, pending state legislation, and development of

new downtown campus.

. Created strategic, multi-faceted training and development function

that includes 65 instructor-led courses, proprietary eLearning group

(unique in state university system), critical leadership and

supervisory development programs, and comprehensive, multi-phase

employee orientation.

. Spearheaded suite of employee wellness programs that have helped

employees collectively shed 2,000 pounds (with continuing progress at

~500 pounds per semester).

. Crafted and led full implementation of HR business partner model,

shifting perception of HR from tactical administrator to value-adding

strategic partner in 3 years.

. Earned repeated awards for university from multiple sources (from 2008-

Independent consulting firm creating and implementing strategies for

organizational change.

Co-founded firm. Led business development and created long-term, trusting

relationships with senior executives and university presidents; developed

vision with clients and led teams to deliver. Simultaneously managed

internal business processes and P&L. Managed 13 staff members.

. Overhauled service delivery model for $10 million continuing education

department at California State University Long Beach, leading to

electronic time and attendance, recruitment management, learning

management, threat reporting, and background check systems) for

PeopleSupport, Inc., Los Angeles, CA 2000 - 2001

Business process outsourcing provider (market cap: $400 million), offering

customer relationship management services (call center and online customer

support).

Hired to create employee development function for start-up company; managed

team of 6 trainers and instructional designers. Collaborated with internal

and client teams to develop core curriculum needs. Promoted to key

consulting role, helping clients design their own internal customer support

functions.

. Conceived and crafted employee development plan and fully launched

training programs within 6 months; subsequently rolled out plan and

metrics to offices in St. Louis, MO and Manila, Philippines.

. Established formal, repeatable process for client onboarding, allowing

company to sustain high service levels while reducing required FTEs by
