special needs children as
well as assisted in helping all children participate in class activities. I
was responsible for the

It was my job to take items off the line and pack them into the correct

various stores. Counting, reading monitors, and data entry as well as being
fast, efficient, and
attention to detail were requirements of the job. Quite frequently errors
had been made by others
and the job required that I catch and correct these errors.

Animal Care Assistant
I was responsible for assisting nurses and veterinarians as requested. This
included stocking
supplies, preparing vaccinations, feeding and walking dogs, cleaning
kennels, escorting patients,
attending pets during surgery recovery, restraining animals during
difficult procedures, and
prepared slides for microscopic viewing. I was also present during numerous
surgeries and
engaged in internal diagnostics.
During my senior year of high school, I did an internship in Kansas City,
working with a movie
producer. I did set dressing, made props, performed office work (printing,
copying, filing,
phone), ran pick-ups and deliveries, did painting, procured catering, and
organized wardrobes.
My favorite part was making props and being on set. The movie was called
Lenexa One Mile.
The movie is now available on DVD (with my names in the credits) and is
called Full Count.
I have been very active in my local church. My family was responsible for
cleaning the church
on a weekly basis for a period of one year. I have been on numerous
missions trips with the
youth group. I cleaned the Allen Fieldhouse after basketball games for
approximately 5 years in
order to raise money for the youth group. I assisted with various other
fund-raising activities
such as Valentines Cookies, Chicken Noodle Dinners, Car Shows, etc.
This past January, I was selected by National Society for Collegiate
Scholars to attend a weeklong conference which included attending the
Presidential Inauguration. I had the opportunity to listen to Al Gore speak
on environmental issues as well as to General Collin Powell. The week
concluded with a gala ball.
