Duties: I currently serve as an Emergency 911Telecommunicator, alarm monitor dispatcher and provide assistance to the responding service
units: Police, Fire, EMS and Rescue agencies on a rotating shift. The employee must be able to handle difficult, stressful situations in a calm,
confident manner. The employee will use a variety of computers systems with different software programs in order to receive 911 traffic, monitor
alarms, dispatch responding service units and maintain Data file for various office automation. Work is performed on a rotating shift, which
includes weekends and holidays. Provides work assignments to the 911 monitors assigned to the section. Serve as the assistant system
administrator for the alarms. Answers all non emergency and emergency 911 telephone lines, obtaining information and recording pertinent
information regarding the nature and urgency of the situation; determines appropriate response and expeditiously alerts responsible units or
agencies via radio or telephone. Dispatches and directs responding service units, i.e. Police, Fire, EMS, and Rescue agencies, etc., promptly to
emergency and other locations. Maintains constant status and availability of all emergency service units and assist authorized agencies with
GCIC Information. Interacts and communicates with various groups and organizations involved in the operations of the Division including
Division EOC, Military Police, Fire, Safety, Security, EMS, the general public and outside agencies such as wrecker companies, Forestry
Commission, security agencies,. and other city, county, state and federal agencies. Continuously monitors the installation alarmed facilities,
which are linked to the primary monitor site. Telephonically contacts facilities when a problem or concern arises. Advises appropriate agencies
of responses required for each facility, and monitors foe correct response from the facility. Annotate any problems or concerns on the log sheet
Clears the alarm after satisfactory conclusion of any incident and resets. Alerts the supervisor of any problems encountered. Maintains printer
directly linked to the computer system and insures operational readiness at all times. Monitors the status of all equipment within the security
system. Reports any security violations to the installation security officer and the system administrator. Reports malfunctioning alarms to the
system administrator and coordinates repair efforts with contract personnel, Department of Public Works. Maintains files of identification codes
on authorized persons to access or secure each facility. Addition to the computer linked alarms the employee will also monitor fire alarms and
facilities with Commercial Intrusion Detection system (CIDS). Maintains log sheets and up to date access roster for facilities using CIDS or
JSIIDS. Performs weekly/monthly testing of the dispatching systems, alarm systems and GCIC. Operates computer terminals in order to input,
extracts, and maintain a variety of installation information. Employee will assist the 911 Center and support mission by processing a variety of
letters, reports, historical files, memorandums, forms, information papers, Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System (ICIDS), etc.
Employee updates, corrects, or eliminates files as required. Researches data files for pertinent information, example: number of fire alarms in
one location, registration of weapons, bikes, vehicles, etc. Database usage will include, but is not limited to GCIC, Alpha Roster, 3998 Card File,
MTF Editor, Forms Engine, and Microfiche. The employee may be required to perform one or more of the following duties: maintain required
