General Manager and Sales Director 1993 - 2010
Southern Nights is an outdoor lighting and electrical business
originally based in Fairhope, Alabama. Business grew continually from
$172K in the first year to $2.8 million in 2008 through referrals, direct
mail, and prospecting. Southern Nights, Inc. acquired an Atlanta based
competitor in 1997 and relocated Southern Nights, Inc. to the Atlanta area.
Incorporated acquired business into existing client base, continually
building sales throughout the southeastern U.S. including South Carolina,
Georgia, Florida panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee.
Created service contract agreements with completed projects to insure
customer retention and reoccurring revenue sales. Developed product
inventory by hands-on use of various manufacturer lines until the right fit
for all aspect of the outdoor lighting product line was achieved. Expanded
into security, sports, architectural and street lighting areas. Added
wireless control capabilities as projects required. Developed software and
accounting systems to fit the regional business including job costing
practices. Installed CAD software to begin storing as-built drawings on
each completed project for future service needs. Developed branding through

Branch Manager-Atlanta 1992 - 1993
Hired to manage and rebuild John Watson's Atlanta, Georgia office.
This office had not had a manager or area sale created in eight months
prior to joining JWLI team. Through existing customer base, the territory
was rebuilt to one of the top sales producing offices within one year.
Expanded territory into eastern Tennessee, middle and northern Alabama and
Georgia coastal area.
Northside Environmental Services, Inc. ? Alpharetta, GA
1975 - 1991
Start up company focused primarily on landscape contracting and
grounds management. Company added in-house irrigation services,
design/build construction services for the residential and commercial
market. The company also created a retail center named Shady Oak Garden
Center to add revenues and market residential landscape services.
Construction services included construction plans with site details,
permitting, governmental inspections, pavers, brick and stone masonry,
standard and decorative concrete, mortar less retaining walls, drainage
solutions, pool construction, waterfalls, low voltage landscape lighting,
carpentry, electrical and plumbing. All services were managed from an in-
house, construction management environment with use of select
subcontractors. Company grew to 75 employees, handling $2.5 million in
gross sales.
