("CareFirst") is a not
for profit company incorporated in Maryland. CareFirst and its affiliated
companies are engaged
in the business of selling health insurance and third party administrative
functions in Maryland,
Virginia and the District of Columbia and serve over 3.4 million members in
the Mid Atlantic
region. As a part of CareFirst business, it contracts with certain
consulting firms to provide
expertise and assist in the development, maintenance and upgrading of
computer systems
necessary to conduct CareFirst business.
The BCBSA mandates that all BCBS Plans adhere to the standards of the Blue
Card
program for out-of-area care for both local and national account business.
The BCBSA provides
software programs that help the Plans deliver the Blue Card program and
follow the standard
processes and protocols. This software, comprised of standard record
formats and facilities, is
called Interplan Teleprocessing Services (ITS). Plans must install the ITS
software into their in-
house claim processing systems to support the program.
This project is to maintain and enhance these applications as per business
requirements.

Download & installation of ITS software from BCBSA
Involved in the Model Office implementation which comprises of installation
of web based claims adjudication system called FACETS
Extensively involved in creating new production jobs for ITS FACETS
interface
Create/Modify test jobs for ITS Facets interface in all SIT/QA/UAT regions,
shakedown of the interface after every release implementation.
Meet with Business Analyst for the knowledge of business requirements
Prepare test plans for the business requirements.
Create test cases and test plans for the requirements and upload in HPQC
ALM.
Execute test cases and validate the results and upload the results in HPQC
ALM.
Raise defects if the actual result is not as expected.

VICS is an application which claims the damage amount from the carrier
which is responsible for the damage caused during transportation. SAMS is
an application which authorizes the carrier to take the non-standard route
for some reasons.
