QUALIFICATIONS
I have several years of experience as a
Veterinary Assistant and in Administration. My
capabilities involve dealing with the care of
animals, working
independently, and strongly as a team. Business and
animal care is my expertise, however, I am a quick
learner and can adapt to any task provided. I am
looking forward to utilizing my skills
and talents with an agency that promotes longevity
and growth.
WORK HISTORY
10/2008- Present Server/Bartender/Expeditor- Applebee's
I dealt with customers hands on, by
taking orders, the exchange of cash, and inputting orders into the system.
Orders were handled in the restaurant,
over the phone, and personal delivery.
Although, I experienced all three, my main duties were within the
restaurant. Keeping the establishment sanitary
for employees and customers was
mandatory. Communicating with the customers about the restaurant specials
and providing them with the best service
were the highlight of my position. Within
the same agency, I have been trained as a
bartender and trained and certified as a
new hire trainer. I make drinks and make
sure that customers do not go against
company policies. I implemented the rules
and regulations for the difficult
customers, while keeping my station clean.
This job helped me to strengthen my skills
in disciplinary action and delegating work
evenly amongst employees. The transfer of
money and orders are recorded to reassure
the quality of service for the company and
the customer.
5/2007- 5/2008 Veterinary Assistant-Ambassador Animal
Hospital
I was responsible for cleaning the
animals, animal cages, surgical equipment,
floors, and bedding. I also made sure the
animals were kept clean and fed
consistently throughout the day. I
especially, had to keep track of those
animals with special diets and medical
needs. My daily log assisted me in keeping
all clinical staff abreast on any changes
in the animal's health. In addition, I
assisted technicians with surgical
procedures, laboratory testing, difficulty
with anesthesia, grooming, and euthanasia
as needed. Record keeping and updating of
files, as well as use of medical equipment
were definitely a key part of my job
description.
9/2003- 6/2004 Veterinary Assistant-Hermitage Technical
Center Of Veterinary Assistance
My job duties entailed caring for animals
and ensuring that they were in a safe environment. I perfected dealing
with the difficult and stray animals as well.
Parts of my duties were to nurse them
back to health and develop a trust relationship, while providing nurturing
in a humane manner. These
responsibilities required that I use my
customer service skills. I had to communicate effectively with the owners
and staff to keep them abreast on clinical
and health issues. I worked very well
under pressure and kept a calm and positive attitude, so that I could react
quickly under serious conditions.
