WORK EXPERIENCE:
****-*******: CREDIT & COLLECTIONS MANAGER, Standex Foodservice Group New
Albany, Mississippi/Salem,NH: For 15 years I have successfully managed the
credit and collections functions in a large manufacturing company with
domestic and international sales. In 2007, I moved into the newly
developed shared services center for all companies in the Standex Food
Service Group. I streamlined the credit approval process by the
retraining of employees to monitor receivables from a global prospective.
This effort along with similar streamlining processes applied to
collections has vastly improved the group's DSO and have continuously
maintained a bad debt percentage of less than one half of one percent. I
wrote and implemented the procedures for the credit, collections and cash
posting necessary to compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, and have maintained
its continued success through testing. I administer decisions on sales
and use taxes on drop shipments throughout the United States and make sure
that proper documentation is obtained to avoid tax penalties in audits. I
have been successful in creating a system for deduction arbitration that
has insured timely and efficient resolution that saves time and money for
the company and preserves the relationship with the customer. I have I
brought the collections process up to date with alternative payment methods
such as ACH, wire, check by phone and credit card processing. My knowledge
of lien laws and the implementation of them has been an asset to the
company. I have successfully utilized my training in lean accounting to
introduce improved methods of maintaining credit and collections records
with scanning software. I have successfully lowered our collection cost by
negotiating better rates for outside collection efforts by third parties.
I am skilled in all areas of credit management and have many years
experience in supervision of departmental staff .
1985-1994: CREDIT/COLLECTIONS MANAGER, Delta Industries, Jackson,
Mississippi: I successfully performed the credit and collections functions
for this large company supplying materials to construction projects. I
effectively used lien and bond laws to successfully maintain excellent
collection record. Handled cash application functions and sales and use
tax issues relating to invoicing and deductions.
