Responsibilities: Daily cleaning and feeding of sections of the zoo's bird and reptiles species, daily record keeping and observation of
animal behavior and exhibit upkeep, communicate with the public through Q&A and animal shows regarding animal information, aid in
needed veterinary procedures, implementing behavioral enrichment and training for a diverse array of species and performing regular
checks of safety equipment. Was trusted alone at exhibits within one week of starting work.

treatments, nursing of in-house patients, and performance of fecal, urine, and blood testing with lab equipment. I left the area upon
graduation from Penn State.

Responsibilities: Diet preparation, hand-feeding of orphaned wildlife, record keeping, cleaning, maintenance and inspection of
enclosures and facilities, and daily first aid care of sick and/or injured wildlife. I left the area upon graduation from Penn State.
Vets-In-The-Wild June 2009
Participated in a 22 day course in South Africa: learned strategies in Wildlife Management, wilderness training, animal tracking,
identification of wild indigenous species, game capture, veterinary treatment for wildlife at private and public game farms, veterinary care
for companion animals in impoverished townships, and disease control to prevent wildlife diseases from spreading to domestic
populations.
