Strong background in analytical work with Excel and basic understanding of
the Accounting Cycle & Functions
Summary
A. Extensive "accounting" work analyzing, balancing and summing loads
and forces of every structural member and tracking them down to the
bottom line of the building foundations on multi-story and other
buildings both by hand calculations and later by creating computer
models in software programs.
B. Experienced in detailed oriented work involving "posting to ledgers
and accounts" from steel detailing background. Kept track of
individual steel members on plan sheets, ledger book and steel shop
drawing including creating bills of materials and calculated weights
to track every piece of steel including the bolts, nuts and washers.
C. Accomplished professional with a dedicated career performing analysis,
system costs comparisons, general cost estimates, statistical
analysis, and making capital improvements to all types of building
structures from A-frames to zoos.
D. Loyal, diligent detail oriented professional with strong work ethic,
drive and client response.

Professional Experience & Achievements
FORTY PLUS OF CENTRAL OHIO, Educational member run organization for career
seekers- Columbus, OH
CURRENT VICE PRESIDENT-Performing administrative, marketing, leadership
duties and assisting members.
SHELLEY METZ BAUMANN HAWK, Structural Engineers - Columbus, OH
(1984-2009) Project Engineer-Full responsibility for surveying,
investigating, assessing, validating, and designing building structures
from schematic through to construction completions including working with
architects, engineers, contractors, owners and consultants.
1. Created cost and value analysis to find best solution to lab ceiling,
roof structure. Analysis provided variables for cost considerations,
material types, security, multiple contractors, ease of construction,
and allowance for field adjustments to support complex lab HVAC and
plumbing requirements. Analysis used by design team to select "best"
answer given weight to all conditions.
2. Successfully produced, scheduled, and coordinated the creation of
structural construction documents and specifications, from schematic
designs through administration and site inspections on projects valued
up to $75 million.
3. Created charts and graphs with MS Excel tools to reduce timeframe to
conduct building code calculations. Used Excel to solve frequent or
specific statistical, design and cost estimates of structural systems
for value engineering use.
4. Worked with design teams in streamlining meetings to provide more
personal and focus detail with each consultant on the project by
staggering schedules of consultants. This results in better
communication and efficient use of all team members time.

SHELLEY METZ BAUMANN HAWK, Structural Engineers - Continued
6. Resolved concerns of clients, architects & contractors of test results
through explanations of what the project specifications required,
education in material properties, code requirements, and performance
of statistical trend analysis to predict future results. Often able to
satisfy all parties without additional expenses unless required.
7. Created tables of quantities of materials by type, length, or weight
on many projects including multi-story buildings for cost estimating.
Worked with professional estimators, architects, and developers in
budgeting costs and finding solutions in cost efficiently on projects.
8. Produced documentations for repairs to buildings from fire or other
causes. Report to one contractor from an auto-damaged building enabled
the contractor to estimate the minimum required repairs to restore a
building to its prior condition for an insurance claim.
9. Inventoried existing structural members of a 1940,s factory building
to supply data on length, size and identification. This supplied data
to draw and analyze the existing conditions allowing upgrading of the
lift cranes in a manufacturing facility.
VOLUNTEER WORK
1. Performed budget scheduling payment tables for cash flow tracking and
budget changes if required as chair of my church mission committee.
2. Past Saturday crew leaders for Greater Columbus Habitat for Humanity.
Supervised up to 12 people, and worked on over 16 houses.
