1. Practicum--as a student Health Unit Coordinator in the ICU/Step-down unit at
O ttumwa Regional Hospital, Ottumwa, Iowa, which was a six week learning
experience under the supervision of an experienced Unit Secretary, where I placed
t he lab reports in the patient charts, placed physician orders for labs, x-rays, blood
t ransfusions, physical and occupational therapy, ran EKG strips twice a day and
other jobs as assigned.

Position : Customer Care. Managed customer phone calls dealing with a wide range of
d ifficulties in shipments, damages and incorrect billing charges on i tems purchased from
Books Are Fun. The position included working with field representatives and managers to
resolve issues of scheduling Fairs and Events for Books Are Fun.
February 2003-June 2007
Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, PC. Waterloo, Iowa, 50704-2758. Left the position in June
2007, due to spousal move.
Position : Radiology Administrative Clerk. The position entailed sorting, organizing and
compiling medical record reports and demographics for radiology billing purposes. The
position also included the responsibility for the verification of medical release documents
according to H IPPA standards and then preparing and mailing of medical records as
requested by attorneys and other physicians.
COM MU N I TY SERV ICE
1. Organized with others “Project Care” at Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, which
annually raised funds to put together and mail several hundred “care packages” to
members of our Armed Forces serving in I raq and Afghanistan.
2. Active in the development of programming and a participant in Family Support
G roups at Fort Riley, KS when my husband was an active duty Army Chaplain, and
l ater with the spouses in the Army Reserve Units where my husband was assigned
i n Iowa.
3. Volunteer work with a variety of groups and organizations to raise money for
m issions and other areas of community need.
