Managed P&L budgets for processing, packaging, cold storage and
fulfillment distribution operations for Jackson & Perkins rose company.
Controlled a budget of $4.3 million, which consisted of one manager,
eight supervisors, and 200 plus employees. Processing 3.5 million roses,
stored and shipped out of two cold storage facilities. Maintained lease
equipment vendors for tractor trailers, bobtail trucks,
forklift/electric pallet jacks, production supplies and 120,000 square
foot of leased cold storage. Managed production facility and quality
assurance for packaged product produced for mail order customers,
Lowe's, Home Depot and other nursery outlet stores. Cold storage and
fulfillment operations consisted of a retail mail order division, pick
and pack, bulk shipping and a packaging operation. Office supervisor and
three shipping clerks scheduled reefer van brokerage firms along with
UPS and LTL carriers to coordinate shipping and invoicing process.
Transport /Logistics: consisted of three Class A drivers that delivered
finished goods to storage facilities and supplied production with raw
material and plant requirements for packaging. Inventory control clerk's
cycle counted inventory and updated consolidation movement of product
out of rooms and pull team supervisors coordinated product order
fulfillment.
