Escala Condominium Tower, Seattle WA (2006~Present)

A 350 million, 820,000-sf, 30-story high-rise luxury condominium with 8-

level parking below grade.

Responsible for project management, construction administration. Lead

designer for foundation, post-tensioned reinforced concrete, structural

steel, column, and shear wall design. Revolutionized 100 ksi steel for

seismic confinement firstly used in North America. Developed dual system

and large cantilever balconies. Received ACEC 2010 Structural Systems

National finalist Gold Award.

Avalon Towers, Bellevue WA (2007~Present)

A 683,000-sf mixed-use residential development, one 16 stories and the

other 25 stories, over four podium levels of private parking and retail

space.

Managed cost-effectiveness of post-tensioned reinforced concrete design to

exceed client's expectations. Coordinated construction administration.

Incorporated structural steel and basement wall design. Implemented

sustainable features for LEED Certification.

NOHO Commons III, North Hollywood, CA (2008~2010)

An 180,000-sf, 9-story office building and 6-level, 720-stall parking

garage in North Hollywood.

Implemented post-tensioned reinforced concrete design featured three

interior columns only. Incorporated substantial design for LEED

Certification.

The Art Institute of California, North Hollywood, CA (2009~2010)

Retrofitted a 7,000-sf existing auto shop building into an Art Institute

Campus. Responsible for project management, metal building design, wood

design. Supervised team to obtain permit from City of L.A. Accomplished

project on time and on budget.

Harrah's Casino & Hotel, Cherokee, NC (2009~2010)

A $633 million development of 195,000-sf, 15-story hotel, luxury

entertainment and tourism destination.

Incorporated multiple aspects of value engineering for post-tensioned

reinforced concrete slabs, foundation piles and structural steel as a total

of more than 15% saving.

Embassy Suites, Hillsboro OR (2009~2010)

A 95,000-sf, 7-story hotel.

Developed structure using cast-in-place concrete with post-tensioned floor

slabs and composite structural steel framed for lobby areas. Incorporated

seismic analysis and shear wall design. The design work was completed on

time and on budget.

Enso, Seattle, WA (2007~2010)

A mixed-use development, 450,000-sf, a 19-story office building and a 19-

story office/condominium tower.

Incorporated the reviews of TI work for Amazon's move-in. Implemented post-

tensioned reinforced concrete design. Awarded LEED Gold Certification by

the USGBC.

1200 Madison Apartments, Seattle WA (2008~2009)

A 178,000-sf, 16-story apartment and 2-level below grade parking.

Incorporated Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to expedite the

design and material take-off. Implemented Revit/Adapt Builder for post-

tensioned reinforced concrete design. Obtained permit from the City on time

and on budget.

Hyatt Regency Hotel Expansion, Bellevue, WA (2007~2009)

A unique addition of 336,000-sf, 20-story complex, 5-level below grade

parking and a 100,000-sf ballroom.

Responsible for post-tensioned reinforced concrete check and basement wall

design. Interfaced with general contractor for site visits. Incorporated

Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology exceeded client's

expectations.

The Rollin Street Flats, Seattle WA (2006~2008)

A 216,000-sf, 11-story mixed-use residential complex with 3 levels of

underground parking.

Responsible for construction administration, shop drawings review, and post-

tensioned reinforced concrete design. Awarded LEED Silver Certification by

the USGBC.

Baldwin 300 Parking Garage, Cincinnati, OH (2008)

A 4-level, 1,100-stall parking garage for the use of future mixed-use

development.

Coordinated tower crane foundation design. Developed structure using cast-

in-place concrete with post-tensioned floor slabs to reduce interior

columns.

Kitsap Transit Center, Bremerton, WA (2008)

A 400-ft long canopy achieved with the use of curved joist girders framed

to steel columns.

Responsible for wind and seismic analysis, structural steel canopy design.

Project exceeded client's expectations.

International:

Aromatics Complex Plant, Taiwan (2004~2005)

A 1,271,000-MTA aromatics plant utilized by UOP and IFP process, owned by

the largest chemicals & fibre company in Taiwan.

Designed steel structures and various foundations to support more than 800

tons multi-equipments. Responsible for seismic analysis and oil tank

foundation design.

Olefins Plant, Taiwan (2003~2005)

A 1,200,000-MTA olefins plant utilized by ABB Lummus process, owned by the

largest petrochemical company in Taiwan.

Implemented wind and seismic analysis. Designed a 210-meter-long pipe rack

steel structure. Responsible for structural steel design to support various

refinery equipments. Incorporated construction cost analysis and material

takeoff.

The CUP Project, Thailand (2003~2005)

Central Utility Project owned by local PTTUT company in Thailand.

Responsible for multiple foundation design for vertical vessels, horizontal

vessels, pipe stanchions, pipe supports and pumps.

Designed footings and mat foundations for boilers and stacks to meet the

requirement of local codes. The design work was delivered on time and on

schedule.

Shanghai PTA Plant, China (2003~2005)

A world-scale British Petroleum (BP) Lucite International Chemical Industry

MMA Project located in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park.

Implemented Chinese codes to design various combined footings and tie beams

for equipment structures. Reviewed structural steel design to meet the

deadlines and budget.

PDMS Exchange, Vietnam (2003~2004)

A building information platform combined with in-house 3D modeling system.

Incorporated CIMAS Vietnamese engineers to develop PDMS and in-house

knowledge. Improved multi-disciplines to work more interactively in

building modeling, design and construction.

Government engineering construction projects, Taiwan: (2001~2003)

* A 6,000-square-meter, 5-story mixed-use residential, office and

tourist center.

Supervised the reviews and approvals of design work. Oversaw construction

cost control and executed budget allocations.

* A 4,500-square-meter, 4-story local headquarter office. Supervised
