07/2008-10/2009 Quality Manager/Engineer, MTD was the maker of stamped

sheet metal bright window trim for the Honda Odyssey

minivan and stamped sheet metal trim for Harley-Davidson

motorcycles. I was brought on board as a Quality

Manager/Engineer to audit & upgrade their quality system to

ISO/TS standards and oversee there quality department. Also

was involved with improving supplier quality and customer

relations. During the last 7 months of operation I also

oversaw the production department, scheduling, shipping and

receiving.

The company went out of business in October 2009

03/2007-03/2008 Electrolux North American Appliance, Webster City, Iowa

Quality Engineer. Electrolux is the manufacturer of several major

brands of home appliances. The plant in Webster City, IA

manufactures washers & dryers. My function was overseeing

the quality department of the sheet metal press department

with 10 personnel directly reporting over three shifts,

insuring the dimensional, fuctionability and appearance of

the external and internal sheet metal components. Work with

the tool & die department when problem with products arise.

Work with the assembly departments with any and all sheet

metal related issues that arise. Work with the engineering

group to improve fit and function and eliminate unnecessary

press functions saving 10% this past year using lean

manufacturing practices and worked with the Supplier

Quality Engineer to improve supplier quality.

04/2006-09/2006 United Cabinet Company, Nashville Tennessee.

Contract Quality and Process Consultant. U.C.C. is the maker of the

"Kabinart" brand of kitchen and bath cabinetry. I was

brought on board as an independent consultant to improve

their product quality, create and write quality procedures

and work instructions. To streamline there production

processes, improve process and product flow. Increased

productivity by 20%. Reduced defects getting to customers

by 50%. Create an over all quality system. Address customer

concerns and supplier issues. Assist management in creating

and writing day to day operating instructions.

09/2005-04/2006 AGC Automotive, Alabaster Alabama

Contract Customer Service Quality Engineer. AGC is a world wide

supplier of automotive glass. My assignment was to work

with, and improve 3rd party containment activities on their

Mercedes-Benz platform, with the eventual goal of

eliminating containment activities and reducing cost.

Reduced defects getting to Mercedes by 60%. Worked with

AGC's on sight personal at the Mercedes-Benz plant in

Tuscaloosa, AL to reduce numbers of defective material

found at Mercedes. Reduced that number by 10%. Worked to

improve relationships between Mercedes Supplier Quality

Engineer, Supplier Quality Operations and AGC. Also to

trouble shoot, root cause manufacturing issues, working to

implement lean manufacturing at AGC on their Mercedes

product production lines. Reduced defects getting to the

containment area from the production line by 10%.

This was a 6 month contract position

11/1999-07/2005 Crotty Corporation, Celina Tennessee/Quincy Michigan.

Quality Manager of the Celina Tennessee division and the Gainesboro

TN division, overseeing the quality department in all

aspects with 15 personnel directly reporting over 2 shifts.

Crotty Corporation was the maker of automotive interior sun

visors for several GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Subaru, PACCAR,

RV, Heavy equipment and some military platforms also.

I was also the Corporate Supplier Quality Engineer, the

position I started out with in the company. I was

responsible for supplier quality at all of Crotty's

manufacturing locations. I traveled to all of Crotty's

locations to be brought up to date, first hand on supplier

issues. I then traveled to supplier locations to address

problems with supplied plastic injected molded parts,

cloth, vinyl, metal components for color harmony, and

dimensional correctness. Perform Supplier Survey Audits.

Also attend to supplier issues by phone on a daily basis.

Worked with suppliers to reduce rejects and PPM's to

Crotty, help steam-line supplier manufacturing processes to

reduce cost and help cut cost to Crotty. Worked to improve

supplier quality systems. Reduced PPM's by an average of 10-

20%. Conduct Supplier Audits for prospective new suppliers.

I also was the Company Plant Representative/Customer

Liaison to Corvette, Saturn, GM Lansing MI Assembly, GM

Wentzville MO Assembly, Magna Intier Holt MI Location,

Magna Intier Mt. Pleasant TN, Lear Dayton TN, and Lear

Madisonville KY.

10/1998 - 10/1999 Century XXII Engineering, Albion, Michigan.

Quality Manager, started as Quality Technician/Engineer under a

contract position. Promoted to Quality Manager. Also named

Quality Manager of the Century XXII Innovations division. I

was the also the Management Representative for the

Innovation's division ISO program and was responsible for

all aspects of the Quality Assurance Department for both

divisions, which is a small Medical Device manufacturer of

artificial knees and ankles for amputees. I oversaw

technicians doing Receiving, Final and In-process

inspection of all injected molded, metal and other material

for color harmony, dimensional correctness, fit and

function. I wrote inspection procedures, Control plans,

implementing a gage tracking system and calibration system.

Working with customer's quality concerns, Supplier Quality

and Supplier audits. Worked to improve lean manufacturing

practices at both Century and there suppliers by an average

of 5-10%. Did corrective action reports and conducted

continuous improvement training.

10/1997 - 10/1998 Triple "E" Manufacturing Inc., Parma, Michigan.

Quality Technician/Engineer/Manager, responsible for all

aspects of the Quality Department for a small Tier 2-3

automotive supplier. First piece layout, inprocess

inspection, Writing procedures, PPAP's, FMEA's, Control

plans, implementing a gage tracking system and calibration

system. Working with customer's quality concerns, Supplier

Quality Assurance, Corrective action reports and conducting

Continuous improvement training and cost reduction

activities.

floor as a day laborer, worked my way through the ranks to
