SHIFT COMMANDER
As Shift Commander at the Las Animas County Detention center, it was my
duty to provide a secure and well-organized environment that promoted the
safety and well being of both the staff and inmates. In this capacity, my
responsibilities included:
. Ensuring that all incoming inmates were booked into the facility in a
safe and timely manner
. Distributing inmate's medication as indicated by their prescriptions
. Training new personnel and seeing to the continued training of
established members of the detention staff by means of bimonthly
evaluations
. Assisted in writing inmate handbook as well as the development of the
facilities detention officer training program

SECURITY SUPERVISOR AT VINYL
While acting as the Security Supervisor at this 2,500 capacity downtown
Denver nightclub, it was my responsibility to maintain a consistently safe
environment. As the Supervisor, I was responsible for:
. Hiring, training and scheduling of the club's twelve-man security team
and six door staff
. Creating a verbal code system to simplify radio calls between members
of the security team for smoother and more efficient communication
. Conducting the monthly inventory and placing the orders for the club's
$40,000 liquor and dry storage goods
. Coordinating with local law enforcement, neighborhood groups and other
local businesses to promote safety and awareness within the community

ARMORED CREWMAN
. Quickly promoted in rank from Enlisted to a Non-Commissioned Officer
Position
. In charge of a four soldier squad during line operations. Duties for
this position included: physical training and counseling of the
soldiers on my tank, maintenance on the platoon tanks as well as the
inventory and ordering of supplies for platoon and tanks
. Deployed to Macedonia for both U.N. and N.A.T.O. missions during the
Kosovo Conflict
. Selected by the squadron commander in Macedonia to represent B Troop
Calvary at a dinner with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
General Shelton
. Assisted the German Army in dismantling the East-West German Wall

Activities:
Eco-Teach, Costa Rica
I spent one month in Costa Rica assisting with research of Leatherback sea
turtles nesting behavior and conservation efforts. During this time I was
also involved in a community outreach program working on an organic farm
with native farmers with a goal of learning, understanding and teaching the
importance of sustainable farming practices.
Denver Police Department, volunteers in policing, Denver Colorado
I volunteered for the Denver Police Department's Volunteers in Policing
Unit in several capacities. I acted as a role-player for academy trainees
during live action "simunition" training. I also assisted in an
administrative capacity in Denver police headquarters documenting and
filing confidential personal records.
