2006. Educating 100 million people worldwide, Pearson Education is a leader
in educational publishing, providing scientifically research-based print
and digital programs to help students learn at their own pace, in their own

NCS Pearson bid on and won a U.S. Government contract to recruit and hire
56,000 Transportation Service Authority (TSA) screeners and supervisors
within 9 months. This project amounted to creating a new government agency.
Total cost of project: $860 million. Hired as one of 75 recruiters
assigned to recruit TSA screeners. Outstanding performance was rewarded
with promotion to manager within a few months of being hired. Responsible
for interviewing, testing, managing the application process, quality check
applications, ensuring the accuracy of applicant data entered into Siebel
system software, and applicant tracking. Responsible for conducting new
employee orientations for as many as 300 new employees per weekend.
Responsible for opening call centers. Tight project deadlines required
working an average of 80 hours per week for the duration of the project.
Utilized strong project and people management skills to complete the
project on time and within budget.
* Responsible for managing a four month project in Charlotte, NC to staff
the Charlotte airport with TSA screeners
* Responsible for managing 56 professionals including recruiters,
background checkers, trainers, and testers
