Pet Care and Animal Handling
I am experienced with handling dogs of a variety of breeds, sizes and
temperaments and can lift dogs up to 75 pounds into a tub and perform basic
maintenance grooming such as bathing, ear cleaning, tooth brushing,
expressing anal glands, nail clipping, brushing and clipping mats. I am
also pet first aid and CPR certified through the PetSavers program and
familiar with many common medicating procedures such as subcutaneous
injection and pilling for a variety of animals including cats, dogs and
reptiles. I train dogs using positive reinforcement methods and have been
trained in the use of other methods. I have experience managing large packs
of dogs in an open play environment and am able to effectively prevent
aggression, break up fights calm overstimulated dogs and help nervous dogs
assimilate into the pack. I am also experienced in kennel maintenance,
including following cleaning and feeding protocols.
Computer Skills
I have a high comfort level and ten years experience using the Windows
Operating System, the Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet, five years
experience using the Banner system at Oakland University and a functional
skill level with HTML and various web editing, and various content
management and social networking resources available on the web.
Customer Service and Clerical Skills
I have more than ten years experience performing general office duties
including filing, record-keeping, scheduling, general organization,
answering multi-lined phones and quick and accurate data entry in excess of
60 wpm. I have provided customer service in person, over the phone and in
writing in retail and office settings for over fifteen years and in clients
own homes for over 2 years. I have experience with document formatting and
proofreading, editing and maintaining websites and newsletters. I am also
familiar with the use of a cash register and have experience handling
money, making change, counting in and out and making bank deposit drops.

Camp Counselor Feb 2010-present
Supervised canine play groups of up to 20 dogs with an eye toward safety,
assessed new dogs temperaments, made decisions about the composition of
play groups after analyzing dogs' personalities and playing styles,
maintained cleanliness of lobby, rest rooms, kennels and play yards, fed
and medicated dogs according to clients' specifications, bathed and dried
dogs, trimmed nails and provided first aid for minor injuries.
