Senior Project Engineer Seattle, WA
- In preparation for mediation, performed analysis of subcontractor’s claims, totaling over
$100,000,000, on the UCLA Westwood Replacement Hospital. The mediation has not been
settled at this time.
- Assisted General Contractor in preparing Request for Equitable Adjustment, totaling more
than $20,000,000, on the U. S. Navy Kilo Wharf Project Guam.
- Worked on the preparation of a Time Impact Analysis for a large contractor constructing a light
rail project for the City of Los Angeles. The result was an award of approximately 200 days by
the Dispute Resolution Board.
- Worked on the mediation defense of a $7,000,000 claim against a large municipality in
Southern California. Consulted with city engineers in evaluating the merits of the contractor’s
claims, collection of documents confirming the city’s defense, and preparation of the mediation
presentation. Wrote the mediation brief for the city attorney. The mediation resulted in a
settlement of $450,000.
- Worked on the mediation defense of a $3,000,000 claim against a large municipality in
Southern California. Consulted with city engineers and inspectors in evaluating the merits of
the contractor’s claims, collection of documents confirming the city’s defense, and preparation
of the mediation presentation. Wrote the mediation brief for the city attorney. The mediation
resulted in a settlement of $250,000.

Responsibilities included the management of the Skanska self-performed work scope, which
included concrete formwork, installation of concrete reinforcement, placement of concrete

Consulted with attorneys from the law firms of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker and Faegre &
Benson in the preparation of over $10,000,000 of claims regarding the Elmendorf Composite
Medical Facility. Assisted expert witnesses in the preparation of expert reports, assisted attorneys
with deposition and hearing preparation, and worked with The Barrington Group in estimating
schedule impacts. Claim issues included cracked structural seismic welds, weld productivity,
curtain wall delays, concrete steel reinforcement welds, elevator counterweight seismic supports,
and excavation of structural fill.

- Managed the Concrete, Structural Steel, Pre-Cast Glass Fiber Concrete, Partitions,
Elevators, and Curtain Walls for the general contractor, on the $125,000,000 Elmendorf
Composite Medical Facility project, located in Anchorage, Alaska. Responsibilities included
the supervision of three field engineers and nine subcontractors.

- Optimize gas injection for producing oil wells Grayling and Monopod Platforms.
- Optimized the gas injection facilities on the Grayling Platform 80MMCFPD
- Evaluated substandard production welds for probability of failure.
- Additional water flood facilities, Grayling Platform, 120,000 BPD.
- Recertification of seismic performance of the Grayling and Monopod platforms.
- Numerous repairs and additions to the Granite Point platform.
- Repair of the Monopod platform following the explosion and fire of the flare scrubber.
Civil Engineer 5/1979 – 1/1986
Houston, Texas
Managed the design, fabrication and installation of over 10 large offshore structures located in the
Gulf of Mexico. Projects included:
- Assisted in the installation of the Cerveza and Cerveza Ligera platforms. The two
structures were located in over 900 feet of water and were the tallest structures west of the
Mississippi river.
- Managed the repair and provided the design of the repair of the Cerveza Platform,
following a well blow out.
- Managed the design and removal of a deep sea drilling template in over 400 feet of water
located at Eugene Island Block 372 Gulf of Mexico.
- Designed and managed the fabrication and installation of the deep sea drilling template in
over 1400 feet of water for Mississippi Canyon Block 455. At that time the world’s deepest
drilling template.
