PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Tech Data Corporation, Clearwater, FL. 1986 - 2007

Manager, Systems Operations & Production Control 2004 - 2007

. Managed annual departmental operating budget of $1.3 million dollars and

staff of thirteen Computer Operators, Production Control & Version

Control Analyst supporting a 7x24x365 multi-platform environment.

. Served as IT Project Manager (2004/2005) for the construction,

consolidation, and relocation of the company's primary data center,

console and print room environments (8,000 sq. ft). Project estimated at

$1.2 million dollars and came in at $347k under budget, twelve months

ahead of schedule thus allowing Corp. Real Estate Dept. to sell off a $10

million dollar company asset earlier than expect.

. Served as IT Project Manager for the upgrade (hardware & software) of the

Production Control department's primary batch scheduler (BMC: Control-M

Enterprise Manager/Enterprise Control Scheduler). This particular

application is used to schedule, control/monitor and trouble shoot some

3,000+ batch jobs and online processes executing across the company's

multi-platform environments over a 24 hr period. Project cost $72k, came

in on time and on budget while meeting all established service levels

(7x24x365) and all disaster recovery requirements.

. Significantly reduced the company's annual printing costs by $189k

through renegotiating existing Xerox printer contracts and overseeing the

upgrade and reintroduction of the company's automated / online M/F report

distribution & viewing software (BMC: Control-D for Distributed Systems)

. Assumed responsibility for twelve Desktop & Notebook Support Technicians

supporting more than 3,200 desktop systems, 400 Notebooks (incl. 60 - 70

WW Executives), 415 desktop printers and fax machines.

. Facilitated daily Production Control problem management meetings to

ensure system outages, failed batch jobs and or failed processes were

addressed in a timely manner and any major outages were escalated and or

communicated to the appropriate Support Managers and IT Executives in a

timely manner.

Manager, Systems Operations & IT Help Desk 2003 - 2004

. In addition to managing the Systems Operations team (7x12x365), I assumed

responsibility for the company's IT Helpdesk and Problem Management team.

As Manager of the IT Helpdesk, I was responsible for ensuring

performance standards, objectives, policies and best practices were

implemented and upheld by each team member. Monitored calls / ticket

queues to ensure visibility, high closure rate and to work with IT

Support Managers when serious or problematic issues arise. Average daily

call volumes varied between 50 to 80 calls per day or roughly 2,900 calls

per month.

. Developed and implemented numerous short-term work plans (CIP) for all

direct reports and coordinated/facilitated in-house or offsite customer

service, technical & applications support training.

. Developed, implemented, and maintained over 600+ Operational, Production

Control, Version Control, and IT Helpdesk policies and procedures geared

towards establishing more efficient processing, faster problem

resolution, and increasing the overall effectiveness of all three

departments.

Manager, Systems Operations 1995 - 2003

. Managed a staff of thirteen Computer and Print Room Operators responsible

for overseeing all daily production, development and test systems

processing and performance monitoring activities across six MVS /

mainframe environments and over 400 distributed servers (Unix, Windows,

Novell, etc).

. Responsible for all of the data centers on the Clearwater campus

including physical layout, daily up keep, coordinating maintenance (Gen-

set, UPS failover testing, AC, etc), delivery/setup/removal of computer

hardware, physical security, and implementing a number of general

policies, procedures and guidelines.

. Responsibility for both onsite and offsite magnetic media storage

requirements, including vendor contracts, disaster recovery coordination,

quarterly tape purchases, etc.

. Developed departmental business continuity and disaster recovery

procedures & plans, managed individuals, and assigned deliverables to a

successful completion.

. Key member of the IT Change Review Board to review impact of planned and

unplanned IT system and application changes entering the production

environment.

. Served as a IT Dept. Floor Warden / Emergency Department Coordinator for

12 years.
