PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Monarch Cement Humboldt, KS
2009 to 2010
Manufactures cement, concrete and cement products used in the construction
industry.
Process Engineer
A team member that reports directly to the Operations Manager providing
process data on kilns and finish mills production.
Major Accomplishments
. Optimized fuel cost preheater/precalciner through using slag at $1/ton
vs. coal/coke at $30/ton achieved 80% use of slag.
. Assisted in optimizing Pfister rotary feeder, through adding extra
blower, minimized sporadic operations due to low pressure.
. Measured and calculated process flows for air sweep, nuisance, and
process dust collectors and develop historical data for troubleshooting
purposes.
. Daily production and process meetings for repairs and operations of
plant.
. Researched and trained on process operations for calculating circuit load
for Sturtevant separators using both blaine and m325 methods.
. Assisted in daily operations of Allis Chalmers roller mill for kiln feed
260 tph, Loesche coal mill 12 tph, 2 - 12' X 165' kilns 150 tph, 1 - 12'
X 65' Polysius finish mill 100 tph with Sepol separator, and 4 Fuller
Finish Mills 30 tph with Sturtevant separators.
. Calculated plant's total energy consumption and reduced it from 18.9
Mwatts to 16.4 Mwatts through minimizing finish mill operating times.

Lafarge N. A. Sugar Creek, MO
2007 to 2009
Manufactures cement, concrete and cement products used in the construction
industry.
Quality Assurance Technician
A lab member that reports directly to the quality manager, and provide
technical data on cement chemistry and ASTM standard.
Major Accomplishments
. Reduced amount of sampling frequency of cement by 1 hour, to allow for
new testing method.
. Initiated placement for a new kiln clinker sampler. This reduced
technician's troubleshooting time. Improved efficiency within the lab,
and eliminated down time.
. Implemented changes within the lab to minimize waste, improve ergonomics,
and improve morale through.
. Trained new employees on lab equipment and test procedures.
. Researched effects of sucrose on cement set times, eliminated waste of
excess dosage to match proper set times.
. Researched dehydration of coal with different lab equipment. Established
proper moisture offsets between different convections ovens.
. Reduced annual maintenance cost by 17%, by streamlining maintenance
process.
Aging Aircraft Feasibility Study (GRA) 2006
Graduate research on maintenance technologies to reduce cost of aging
aircraft for a depot maintenance facility.
Major Accomplishments
. Collected and analyzed data for maintenance technique for aircrafts that
are reaching the end of their cycle life.
. Extend aircraft life cycle, through cost benefit analysis, value stream
mapping, decisions theory, and six sigma processes, to find most feasible
methods of repairs, at minimal costs.
High Performance Mold (Senior Design)
2004
Developed and implemented new methods for injection molding through the use
of conformal cooling channels. Optimized cooling channel placement,
through laser deposition welding and reduced manufacture costs.
RPM Solutions
2004
As an engineering intern; assembled patented nozzles for Flue Gas
Desulfurization systems, operated coordinate measuring machine, and
performed routine maintenance.
