To whom it may concern,
Please allow me to tell you a little about myself, and my personal
philosophies and goals. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University
with a BS in Dietetics. Although my career goals no longer include
becoming a registered dietitian, I still enjoy seeking out, applying and
sharing nutritional knowledge. I have been most recently employed as a
Cook II, but am now seeking employment in a new field, where I have more
room for career and financial growth.
In my past and current employment I have acquired a unique and varied skill
set. I have done this by quickly learning new and challenging computer
programs and by discovering more effective ways of using those programs to
get the desired results. I am a critical thinker and work well with
minimal supervision. I enjoy challenges and welcome opportunities to learn
new skills whenever possible. The pursuit of solving a problem is always
motivating to me, but I am also not above performing daily tasks. My past
employer have come to value my opinions and often brought me on board for
tough projects. I work well with other associates to complete and assist
in given projects and tasks. I take my work seriously and practice honesty
in all I do. In addition to this seriousness, I strongly believe that
professionalism and coworker camaraderie can and should exist together in a
workplace.
I have worked in a fast paced office setting for the past six years where I
have learned to use all of the basic office equipment, and many computer
programs such as: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, EATEC (a foodservice
inventory control system), Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and SmartDraw,
and I enjoy learning any new tool I can get my hands on.
My studies in the nutritional sciences have given me exposure to some basic
lab work and procedures, which has contributed to my detail oriented work
standard.
I desire a position in which I can utilize my current skill set in problem
solving, quick learning and critical thinking, and where I can participate
in both company and personal growth. I am also seeking employment with a
company that shares my desire to have positive community involvement.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to be hearing from you soon. I can be
contacted at the above phone number and email address for a phone or
personal interview at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Molly Strong
