SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Counseling and assessing at risk clientele; coordinate multiple tasks

Behavioral Health in program development, policy and procedure development,

compliance with WACS and RCWS; provides education and behavioral

activation, monitors symptoms and response to medication and/or

psychotherapy using structured instruments; and offers a brief course of

counseling, as necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

> Providing and coordinating mental health care and community

referrals for clients enrolled in the GA-U Program by working

closely with the primary care providers and mental health

providers.

> Provided individual, family and group psychotherapy treatment,

Crisis Intervention while adequately documenting the treatment

process and progress.

> Provided crisis intervention services and participates on the on-

call rotation to provide crisis intervention on a 24-hour per day

basis.

> Made clinical decisions regarding the welfare of patients,

Assessments, Individualized Treatment Plan, Crisis Intervention,

Family intervention, Relapse Prevention as well as suicide

assessments.

> Traveled to assigned villages to provide mental health services on

a regular basis.

> Performed court commitment proceedings for patients who are a

danger to themselves, a danger to others, or are gravely disabled.

> Provided assessments and consultations to medical staff, police,

schools, and other professionals and agencies as requested and

when appropriate.

> Offered education regarding mental health issues to schools, other

organizations, and communities.

> Cross-cultural counseling of adolescents

> Provided case management, including making appropriate referrals

to community agencies and institutions.

> Escorted, or provided for escort services, for mentally ill

patients requiring placement outside the region. Continues to

monitor patients while in other placements or facilities.

> Worked as part of a team to provide optimal mental health services

which may include making referrals to other Maniilaq and non-

Maniilaq programs.

> Maintained confidentiality of patient records and treatment.

ADJUSTMENT COUNSELING AND EDUCATION:

> Counseled individual adolescents at Excelsior Youth Center dealing

with issues arising from childhood/adolescent trauma including

depression, drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, and behavior

problems.

> Gave support to clients regarding specific problems pertinent to

children/adults in crises: social anxiety, grief and loss of

friends, pets, familiarity, as well as fears and insecurity.

> Provide intense community support and therapeutic interventions for

over 19 at risk girls in residential-based interventions. Aid these

clients in maintaining stability and awareness of behavioral

issues, teaching psycho-education about family issues, emotional

symptoms/medication and coping mechanisms
