EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Held increasingly responsible positions with one of the largest health care providers in the
northeast. Began in an entry level housekeeping position at age seventeen and after 33 years
resigned as Director of Engineering where I supervised 90 personnel who held titles of
Operations Manager, Systems Supervisor and Mechanical Engineer and Data Entry Clerk.

Strategic Planning: Developed and implemented five-year forecasts for operations,
equipment replacement and capital budget projects for physical plant infrastructure.
Made Lease vs. Buy decisions and developed acquisitions strategies for new properties.
Was a member of the Facilities Design Team which functions include the design,
development and preliminary budget estimates.
Financial Management: Developed and managed $18 million operations budget, $7
million capital projects budget and annual operations labor budget.
Human Resources Management: Interviewed, hired and mentored management team of 14 who
supervised five levels of personnel. Supervised and trained a cross functional team who impacted
all aspects of the maintenance and operations of the physical plant including three campuses,
several medical office facilities and non medical hospital properties. Developed policies and
procedures.
Energy Management: Coordinated energy audits for all major utilities. Conducted award-
winning programs for energy conservation and utilities procurement including purchasing
electric and natural gas futures directly from providers.
Operations Management: Supervised the implementation of corrective maintenance
programs. Managed vendor relations to insure cost effectiveness. Coordinated
compliance with relevant federal, state and local regulatory agencies including the Joint
Accreditation Committee of Hospital Organizations (JACHO), OSHA and EPA.
Operations Site Manager, April 1988 – July 1996
Oversaw daily operations of Maintenance Department including supervising electricians,
plumbers, HVAC, and power plant personnel. Distributed daily work load assignments;
managed inventory of maintenance supplies. Worked directly with staff to provide
technical support.
