Student Teacher experiences with Toledo Public Schools for a total of
five months include: participated in weekly cluster meetings, monthly
department and building meetings, created numerous original unit and lesson
plans that exceeded state and national standards replete with student
assessments and individualized learning opportunities. Integrated
technology for student benefit, such as a unit on Persuasive Writing
wherein students participated in and created interactive Power Point
presentations, as well as composed essays utilizing research, format, and
original rubrics I designed specifically for their instruction. Maintained
handwritten and electronic grade books (utilizing both Making the Grade and
Microsoft Excel grade book templates) and provided students with bi-weekly

As a Therapeutic Program Worker with Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare
for nearly three years, work experience included--but was not limited to--
the following: providing direct care for an all-male forensic unit in a
psychiatric hospital setting for the criminally insane in which
assessments, progress reports, and communication as a part of a treatment
team (which consisted of the nursing staff, psychiatrist, psychologist, the
patient's social worker, and social service agencies) in efforts to assist
patients in recovery were essential. Ensuring that patient's were compliant
with their individual treatment plans as well as unit and hospital policies
was pivotal and achieved through constant, consistent, and thorough
monitoring (head counts, bed checks, and room searches) and assessments of
patient behavior and interpersonal communication/interactions. Duties also
entailed educating patients concerning medication, economic budgeting,

a safe and therapeutic milieu.

As a Child Care Provider for children ages 18 months -10 years old,
knowledge and practice of the regulations and policies of Ohio Department
of Jobs and Family services regarding care, practice and provisions for
clients were essential in being eligible to provide care. Provided children
with shelter, sleeping accommodations, nutritious snacks and meals,
educational activities, and supervision that exceeded state requirements
while in my care. Detailed record keeping was essential in providing care
due to pay rates being in accordance to client attendance and pay scale
when they were receiving assistance from Lucas County Jobs and Family
Services.

the organization. As assistant to both the Unit and Program Directors of
the Homer Hanham Unit, maintained membership information, operated a multi-
line phone/P.A. system, provided weekly/monthly reports on membership
status and attendance, implemented means of retaining and recruiting
members, and clerical work (typing memos, making copies, faxes, filing,
etc.) was required.
As an arts and crafts instructor for over a year, responsibilities
included creating, instructing, and supervising members-children ages 7-18,
in multi-cultural arts and crafts projects, which included painting,
drawing, singing, dancing, cutting, pasting, etc. Some responsibilities
included, lesson planning, and collaborating with co-workers on strategies
to interest more members in programming.
