Educational Experience
Education Consultant, ESM, Denver, CO
-Currently working (fall 2010) under month to month contract with an educational
account centered on students studying and traveling in the summer of 2011. My primary
responsibility is to speak with interested parents who are considering signing up for our
program so their child can travel and study and enrich their lives with the client’s
comprehensive education plan.
Substitute Teacher, Bedford Public School District, Bedford, VA
-Substitute taught at a primary and two middle schools in the spring of 2010. I worked a
7.5 hour day teaching language arts, science, reading, and math. The middle schools
presented a great opportunity to hone my secondary teaching methods and log extra time
in the classroom, in preparation of getting a full-time teaching position at a school.

-Assisted Jake Pillard-Teacher, 6th grade World History Social Studies, fall 2009
Taught the class by direct instruction for 12 weeks and observed the classroom and
other classes for 4 weeks, including high school economics and social studies
related classes.

-Field Experience/Practicum in 9th grade Algebra class (12/2007) and 10th grade English
class (3/2008), also observed a special education teacher teaching 10 behavioral disorder

-Conducted action research of cooperative learning in the classroom for high school
students, as a group project for a graduate course requirement in my M.A.T program.
