Present Summer 09 Upgrade Support: Consultant (Epic IT)
This position involved limited Inpatient & In-basket system
build, end-user training, and go-live support for the Inpatient
phase 2 project and Summer 09 upgrade. Demonstrated exceptional
capabilities related to master file migration into alternate
environments, excellent documentation, and required a thorough
understanding of health system implementation policies and
procedures. Provided end-user training to over 100 peri-
operative nurses due to my previous OR experience.
March 2007 - Cleveland Clinic Health System; Cleveland, Ohio
June 2010 Lead Development Analyst / Lead Integration Analyst - OpTime:
Consultant (Epic IT)
OpTime Administration
** Epic certified NVT in OpTime with Peri-Operative Charting -
version Summer 2009, Spring 2008, & Spring 2007.
This position required coordinating the complete build of OpTime
within a multi-deployment, Intra Connect (Care Everywhere)
environment. While being involved in every aspect of the
OpTime set up, demonstrated exceptional capabilities related to
Epic build, master file migration into alternate environments,
process improvement, work flow analysis, as well as excellent
documentation. These abilities were further demonstrated by
conducting knowledge transfer and reinforcing positive team
building and coaching. I also displayed strong organizational
skills while managing status documents, issue lists,
facilitating project meetings, and adhering to strict task
deadlines.
. Assisted with OpTime implementations at 14 physical locations
which consisted of 8 hospitals and 6 ambulatory surgery centers.
The system build for these sites translated to 36 OpTime OR
locations and included over 300 OR rooms. Served as command
center manager for many go-lives.
. October 2009: Implementation at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation
- Main Campus. CCF Main Campus was the largest one day go-live
in the history of the Epic's OpTime module. This install
consisted of 11 OR locations and 120 OR rooms. Served as lead
development analyst for this go-live.
. Demonstrated tremendous knowledge in many OpTime build areas
including system definitions, programming points, navigator
build, case / log functionality, workflow engine rule, flow
sheets, PAF records, online reports, and category lists.
. As an integral team member, participated in workflow design /
validation sessions with end users. Build validation included
analyzing areas that needed process improvement, recommending
enhancement solutions to all levels of management, and lastly
replicating legacy functionality within OpTime.
. Served as primary contact for OpTime integration with other Epic
modules. Integration efforts required working with members of
the Inpatient, CPOE, Cadence, Ambulatory, and HIM teams as well
as enterprise master patient and facility structure
professionals.
. Assisted with the design of 3 unprecedented OpTime interfaces (2
inbound / 1 outbound). Worked in tandem with interface team
members / Epic TS and received significant exposure to Epic
Bridges and HL7 interface messages. In addition to these new
interfaces, also assisted with OpTime communication between
legacy billing, ADT, and other EMR systems.
Intra Connect Administration:

Maintained two major projects at Geisinger while serving as an
Epic Administrator; these included the development and support
of the OpTime and ADT modules. Additional responsibilities
include serving as representation for these Epic modules to
various oversight groups focusing on integration.
OpTime Administration:

This position required a thorough understanding of the entire
OpTime application build and set up. While assisting in this
build and set up, demonstrated complex analysis, problem
resolution, as well as excellent documentation. These
accomplishments were aided by participating in recurring
discussions with hospital staff and gathering hospital specific
needs. As a member of the core OpTime team, established
tremendous working relationship with surgical staff, hospital
operations, executive management, Epic corporate staff, and also
Information Technology analysts, programmers and management.
. Attained a thorough comprehension of all OpTime system
definitions, security points, and custom programming which
serves as an invaluable tool for problem resolution and
deciphering system limitations.
. Assisted with OpTime implementations at 4 physical locations
which consisted of 2 hospitals and 2 ambulatory surgery centers.
The system build for these sites translated to 4 OpTime OR
locations and included over 70 OR rooms. Served as command
center manager for many go-lives.
. Implementation experience included Production environment as
well as many test environments. Required a thorough
understanding of implementation policy and procedures.
. Responsible for staff by overseeing testing, documentation, and
reporting of issues. Other oversight responsibilities include,
but are not limited to, verifying build, security set up, and

ADT Administration:
This position required the development of ADT security and user
roles, which included the successful integration of ADT with
other Epic modules. As a member of the core ADT team,
participated in the testing and training of ADT functionality,
and transferred the knowledge to various Geisinger staff, as
well as various consulting and sub-contracted staff.
. Assisted with ADT implementations at two separate level one
hospitals. Served as shift lead for Patient Access and
Emergency Departments.
. Identified as security team lead for ADT. Coordinated the
design of an innovative Epic security import. A version of this
import was later introduced in Epic Spring 06 IU Release.
. Served as primary contact in resolution of over 250 production
support tickets.
Other Administration:
. Member of Epic IT Master File team, Security team, and User Role
committee. These teams were responsible for the integration of
all Epic modules utilized at Geisinger.
. Served as the Team Lead for the Epic IT User Role committee.
This group was compromised of Epic IT security development
experts; it provided guidance for user roles of all newly
purchased modules.
. Strengthened integrity of Epic IT Shadow environment by
identifying security weaknesses and developed code requirements
for downtime conversion. Facilitated testing with all modules
and served ad Team Lead for subsequent conversion testing.
Ensuing experience included Epic SRO testing (Server Read Only).
. Identified as 'point of contact' for Geisinger Epic IT when
reporting security issues to Epic Corporation.
January 2001 - Verizon Communications; Arlington, Virginia
December 2004 Systems Analyst - Operating System Support
Member of team that managed Verizon's applications to the FCC
and State Commissions seeking to enter the long distance markets
within the Atlantic region. Worked to prepare witness testimony,
answered data requests by competitors and federal/state
commissions. Responsibilities included analyzing Verizon system
performance, compiling information, and authoring summary data.
Position required understanding complex system architectures,
interpreting policy and regulations, as well as meeting strict
deadlines.
Accomplishments specific to this position include:
. Assisted in the achievement of FCC approval for Verizon entrance
into the long distance markets. Our team helped Verizon receive
FCC approval faster than any other company in the nation.
. Awarded yearly promotions for personal achievement and
