Experience:

Mid West Fabricating Co., Amanda, Ohio Sept. 2007 -Current

Mid West Fabricating is a Tier I and Tier II Automotive and Lawn &Garden

supplier of cold formed rod components, industrial and highway fasteners

and, welded assemblies. Mid West Fabricating operates three production

facilities; Amanda, Ohio, Lancaster, Ohio, and Santa Fe Springs, Ca

Lean Manufacturing Manager Sept. 2007 - Current Selected by the Company

Owner to implement a new vision for the operation of the company, using a

mixture of tools to do so including: Lean Mfg, One Minute Manager, Six

Sigma, Constraint Management, and others.

. Designed and led more than 25 Improvement Events resulting in a

savings of $698,000 in direct labor in one department alone.

. O.E.E/Uptime improvements in the same department doubled the output

for three of the four part numbers in the program.

. Selected, trained and developed a team leader to run the program and

lead the new team by using Short Interval Controls and One Minute

Manager Techniques. New production records are consistently being

broken and that team is the most successful team in the Company.

. Established 4 other teams in the plant. Trained and developed each

team leader and established department metrics for each team based on

the company's BMS goals.

. Lean Events and improvement elsewhere in the plant resulted in 5s

implementation in three other departments, setup time reduction,

equipment re-organization, and waste reduction

. Established Pull Systems for W.I.P. by using Visual Management

Techniques and Visual Factory Management

. Events in two other Mfg. locations resulted in: Waste Elimination, 5s

Implementation, Part Travel Time Reduction, Increased Production

Output, and overall improved Team Member satisfaction.

. New equipment purchases/builds as a result of Lean events resulted in

two new pieces of equipment in 2009 and two more slated for 2010. All

for the purpose of bottleneck elimination and Part Quality

improvement.

Quality Engineer Sept 2005 - Sept 2007 Assumed responsibility for the

corrective action program, tracking and reporting of monthly Plant

Metrics, PPAP's direct to GM & Chrysler as well as other tier I suppliers

such as, Formet, Advanced Engineering, Black River Mfg. and others.

. Requested to handle all Quality functions for the Automotive

Customers, including on site audits, Corrective Actions, Customer

Visits and Quality Concern Resolutions.

. Served as APQP team leader on more than a dozen Level III PPAP's

. Earned a seat on the Company TS16949 Management Review Board which

reviews key corrective actions, compares actual performance to goal

and establishes BMS goals for the upcoming year

. Selected to serve on the TS16949 Steering Committee and assumed

responsibility for the majority of the document control as well as

authoring new procedures and work instructions

Brown Corporation Waverly, Ohio Jan 2004- Sept 2005

Brown Corporation is a

Tier I and Tier II automotive supplier of steel stampings and mig welded

assemblies.

Production Supervisor May 2004 - Sept. 2005 Selected as production

supervisor for the largest and most complex production lines in the

facility.

. Implement Short Interval Control boards on a sub assembly line that

completely eliminated a product flow issue that had been present for 5

years.

. Designed a unique material handing device to safely transport delicate

sub-assemblies to the production line without damage while using a

minimum amount of floor space.

. Complete responsibility for training team members on the production

lines in Safety, Part Quality, and the duties of each job.

Plant Improvement Consultant Jan. 2004-May 2004 Chosen to be a member of

a three person plant improvement team at the Ionia, Michigan facility.

Eliminating customer quality and delivery issues, making process flow

improvements and implementing and improving quality procedures.

. Charged with resolving visual paint defects and delivery issues to the

customers' satisfaction. Resulted in 100% elimination of defects and

delivery problems. A small cost savings was also realized.

. Asked to eliminate three sources of non-conforming product within the

plant. All three were eliminated as well as three others through the

"Lessons Learned" process.

Selkirk LLC/Selkirk Metalbestos Logan, Ohio August 2000- August 2003

Selkirk is a manufacture of type B gas

venting products, pre-fabricated chimneys and pressurized industrial

venting systems. Selkirk was purchased by Tinicum Partners in July of 2002

and now operates as Selkirk LLC. with four manufacturing plants in North

America

Engineering Manager/Manufacturing Engineer Directed and supervised an

eight member plant maintenance team and maintenance supervisor, purchased

new equipment, responsible for plant cost reduction program, ensured

plant EPA reporting compliance, updated and maintained labor standards

and bills of material, and resolved product quality issues.

. Selected to be Lean Manufacturing Director of Selkirk's Logan

Facility. Four Lean events were held resulting in a 46% reduction in

labor. Part travel distance was reduced by 50% and floor space

requirements reduced by 45%.

. Requested to improve the existing commercial/industrial department

layout. Managed all aspects of the new layout and increased production

capacity by 33% and reduced part travel by 37%.

. Selected to serve as a member of the Value Analysis Team which

included members from five Selkirk Facilities in North America

GKN Sinter Metals / Borg Warner Automotive Gallipolis, Ohio, Feb. 1997 -

July 2000 GKN is a tier I and tier II automotive

supplier of powder metal transmission components. GKN acquired Borg Warner

Automotive Gallipolis in December 1999.

Manufacturing Engineer, April 2000-July 2000 Purchased new equipment,

implemented corrective actions for customer quality issues, part time

supervision of a 30 person hourly labor force and provided technical

support for down equipment issues.

. Recognized the need for improving preventive maintenance procedures

and implemented a unique method for improving equipment uptime and

reliability.

. Requested to review and improve new standard operating procedures.

Reviewed and documented all operator set up procedures and produced a

user friendly instruction manual.

Program Manager, Nov.1998-April 2000 Designed and procured a $5.5 million

dollar program budget, developed plant equipment layouts, purchased and

installed new equipment, effectively communicated with customers and

vendors regarding project needs and quality issues, led a seven member

product launch team.

. Charged with reducing multiple outsourcing operations without

interruption to the customer's production ramp-up schedule.

Established two new machining processes, which combined four

operations into two, ensuring that production was ahead of the

customer's plans.

. Led the production team that created and maintained a 5,000-piece

inventory at the customer's location that reduced the number of

expedited shipments from two per day to zero.

. Identified the need for quicker tooling changeover time and managed

the team that installed a new mounting system which reduced set up

time by 70%
