Summary Electrical professional engineer, familiar with the design of
electrical system for commercial and industrial applications
using AutoCAD in accordance with NEC code and other local
codes,and proficient in troubleshooting, maintenance and
installation of electrical and electronic equipment.
Experience
04/2007 - I.A. Naman + Associates Inc., Houston, TX 77046
02/2010 Electrical Engineer
. IAN+A's consulting engineering services guided energy-efficient design
of hospitals, universities, office buildings, data centers, garages,
retail centers, hotels, airports, high-rise residential and central
plants. As an electrical engineer, I focused on the electrical design of
the projects. My duties included but were not limited to: according to
national electrical code and local code, making electrical
specifications and system analysis, calculating electrical load and
short circuit current, designing electrical one-line diagram, lighting
plan, power plan and fire alarm plan, selecting equipment type and size
based on calculation and analysis, providing electrical system layout
and detail drawing, drawing up design documents and directions for
construction, and answering clients' questions. All work was done using
AutoCAD, Excel and Microsoft Word. Major projects I have been involved
in are:
1) Autry Court Renovation of Rice University, Located in Houston.
2) Shell Administration Building, Located in Gelsmar, Louisiana;
3) Shell Westhollow Administration Building, Located in Houston;
4) P.P.H. Medical Building, Located in Houston;
5) BP E & P Learning Center, Located in Houston;
6) The Expansion of Houston Museum of Natural Science;
7) The Replacement of UPS for Williams Tower, Located in Houston.
10/1998 - A & E Designers Inc. / Cardinal Point Inc.,
Lexington, KY 40503
03/2007 Electrical Engineer
. Design electrical system for commercial applications according to
national electrical code and local codes. My duties were similar to
those mentioned in I. A. Naman Inc. The projects that I designed
involved hotels, churches, storages, shopping centers, schools,
restaurants, etc. They were as follows:
1) Retail Centers: Wal-Mart, Kmart, Ann Tailor, Shoe Show, Payless,
Brookstone, and so on, totaling 165;
2) Restaurants: McDonald, KFC, Junes Crabshack, IHOP,
Starbucks, Moes, Dock Green, Jersey Mike, Ben & Jerry, and etc.,
totaling 322;
3) Storages like U-Haul, a total of 24;
4) Hotels like Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Best Western and
etc, a total of 24;
5) Schools and churches, a total of 8.
The projects mentioned above were located in 45 states of USA.
05/1989 - Anqing Design Institute of Petrochemical Industry,
P.R. China
05/1993 Electrical Engineer
. My job was to design electric power sub-station, distribution station,
MCC, electric lighting system and other electrical systems for
petrochemical enterprises, commercial and industrial applications
according to Chinese electrical code. Duties included: making electrical
specifications and system analysis, calculating electric load and short
circuit current, designing electrical one-line diagram, lighting plan,
power plan and fire alarm plan, selecting equipment, providing
electrical system layout and detail drawing with latest CADD, drafting
design documents and directions for construction, and answering clients'
questions. The main designs included two electric power stations (35
KV/6 KV), six 6KV sub-distributions, seven distribution stations / MCC
(6 KV/380V) and five 4-story hotels and etc..
06/1993 - Anqing Acrylic Fiber Factory of China Petrochemical Group
(Sinopec),
09/1998 Anqing, Anhui, P.R. China
Senior Electrical Engineer & Director
. SINOPEC was the largest company in China and this factory was one of the
three largest acrylic fiber plants. In fact, this factory is a
combination of chemical plant and fiber plant, because the former
provided the raw material for the latter. As a senior electrical
engineer and director of electrical department, my duties included but
were not limited to: supervising and managing 105 electrical workers,
arranging and guiding the electrical design review and equipment
selection for this new-built factory, went to Japan to visit Yaskawa
Electric Corp. for CP-3300 (PLC) programming and the final inspection of
the equipment that would be used in five acrylic fiber production lines,
guiding the construction of 110kv electric power station, charging the
installation and adjustment of automatic system in acrylic fiber
production lines, taking part in the compiling of electrical equipment
maintenance manuals. After the factory was built up, I managed the
operation of 110kv electric power station, and organized the
troubleshooting, regular inspection and maintenance for all electrical
and electronic equipment. In the factory there were 47 electric
transformers, 3 sets of 110kv SF6 circuit breakers, 224 sets of 35kv or
6kv circuit breakers, several electrical lighting systems, 2,890 sets of
electric motors, 25 sets of PLC, 220 sets of VFD's, 8 sets of UPS's, and
other electronic apparatus and electrical equipment.
02/1982 - Anqing Refinery factory of Sinopec, Anqing, Anhui, P.R.
China
04/1989 Electrical Engineer
. Managed the operation of 35kv electric power station, was responsible
for high voltage test and presetting of protection device of electrical
equipment, drew up yearly repair plan for electrical equipment, guided
the installation of electrical equipment, charged troubleshooting, daily
inspection and regular maintenance, carried out technical innovation and
improvement, trained the electricians and was responsible for monitoring
the operation quality of electrical equipment.
Education
. Anhui University of Technology and Science, located in Wuhu, Anhui,
China. Bachelor of Science. Majored in industrial electrical automation.
. Courses included: math, physics, chemistry, basic theory of machinery,
electrical engineering principle, electric power systems, electric motor
& drive, analog electronic circuits, digital electronic circuits, theory
of computer, technique of computer control, theory & system of automatic
control, etc.
