Executive Director
Current duties include all administrative and accounting functions for the
District, including 3 volunteer organizations of 20,000+ members and one
Foundation with total assets of $1.5 mil that provides medical research
grants. Other duties include contributing editor and publisher of
bimonthly magazine; planning all elements of all district events, including
site evaluations and contract negotiations, scheduling and coordinating all
events and volunteers, processing all registrations and publishing of
convention program; oversight of 10+ training events for new board members
and club officers each year, including preparation and presentation of
training materials. Achievements have included elimination of over $40,000
in annual expenses of a $250,000 annual operating budget; automation of
accounting systems, budgeting systems, convention planning and registration
systems, and board and member communications: implementation of monthly
electronic reporting system for 260+ clubs; establishing systems and
controls for all entities. Also chosen by Kiwanis International Board to
serve as current member and past Chair of International Committee of
District Executive Directors, member of Kiwanis International 100th
Anniversary Planning Committee, and past member of Kiwanis International
Financial Task Force.

Member of Executive Committee for $215 million community bank.
Responsibilities included oversight of all accounting, treasury and cash
management functions, including bank-owned insurance agency; management of
$50 million investment portfolio; all financial, management and regulatory
reporting; asset liability management, including loan and investment
pricing models; management of payroll and benefit processing; development
of incentive compensation programs; and oversight of outsourced internal
audit program. Served as Compliance Officer and member of Trust Management
Committee. Also responsible for bank security, management of loan review
program, facilities management for 7 branches, oversight of information
systems and data processing; oversight of all operations of the bank,
including new accounts, loan servicing, and loan document preparation.

June 1994 to June 1997 - Castle BancGroup, Inc., DeKalb, Illinois
Corporate Controller, March 1996 to June 1997
Responsibilities included preparation of all financial statements,
management and Board reports, annual report, regulatory and SEC filings for
$450 million multi-bank holding company and subsidiaries; supervision of
accounts payable, shareholder relations, daily corporate operations, and
employee benefit plan administration; implementation and oversight of
corporate wide asset liability management systems, accounting and general
ledger systems, management reporting systems, and budgeting/forecasting
systems. Responsible for due diligence procedures and valuation of
acquisition targets. Chair of Corporate Accounting Steering Committee and
member of Corporate EDP Steering and Corporate Risk Management Committees.
Also served as Corporate Security Officer and performed special projects
for senior management.
General Auditor, June 1994 to March 1996
Implemented and supervised out-sourced internal audit program. Developed
and implemented a corporate compliance function. Coordinated
communications with external auditors and regulators, including supervision
of external staff auditors, and assisted with year-end financial statement
audit. Member of acquisition due diligence team and performed special
projects for the Board of Directors.
