SUMMARY
I am an extremely driven individual, taking care of my young baby while
going to school at the same time. I am currently an Independent Beauty
Consultant with Mary Kay. Although I love working for Mary Kay, I cannot
depend on a steady income from the company. Currently attending a local
community college, I am majoring in Office Technologies and hope to obtain
a position to give me experience in my field of study.
QUALIFICATIONS
I am a multi-tasker at heart. It was one of the best skills I picked up in
the food industry. It's especially helpful as a mother, if I can distract
my baby for long enough. In school, I am currently taking a word processing
and keyboarding class. In this class I tested to close to 80 wpm. In
school, as a freshman in high school, I won a "Sheldon Recognition Award"
for achievements in Spanish. In my senior year of high school I volunteered
to the "Safe Rides" program, offering free anonymous rides to teens in the
Greenwich, CT area. While working at Balducci's our store was awarded best
customer service for two quarters consecutively. I respectively earned my
black belt in martial arts at the age of fifteen. Since graduating high
school and going to college, I have kept up and improved my Spanish
significantly. I am confident that I can convey any messages needed to
clients, if need be.
WORK EXPERIENCE
2010-Present Independent Beauty Consultant; Mary Kay Cosmetics
2009-2010 Server; California Pizza Kitchen
My most recent part-time postion as a serve. Job duties include attending
to numerous tables, seating guests, and answering phones.
2008 Server, Phones, Hostess; Pomodoro
During my time at Pomodoro, a small local Italian restaurant, my first
position was a hostess. My duties as hostess were cleaning menus, wrapping
silverware, along with some minor cleaning. As time my time grew longer,
and I learned the menu, I began answering the phones and taking take out
orders. Many times I was asked to both answer phones and attended the
incoming guests. As a server, when I found time, I answered the phones,
greeted new guests, and attended my tables.
2007-2008 Hostess, Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse, the busy restaurant as it is, was very fast paced. One
is required to learn quickly or success was not an option. Part of my job
duties included taking "call aheads". Mind you, not reservations but rather
placing your name on the wait list, cutting your waiting time in half.
"Seat scouting" included surveying the entire restaurant for tables either
with a check, in need of cleaning, or clean.
2007 Cashier, Porocelli's
Temporary position while on break from college; attended to customer's
needs.
2004-2006 Cashier & Bookkeeper
As my first position in the working world, Balducci's offered me many
opportunities. Not only did I work as a cashier, but I also attended to the
bookkeeping for the company. I helped out in almost every department that I
was permitted to including: catering, flower dept., kitchen dept., and the
bakery.
EDUCATION
2010-present Westchester Community College Valhalla, NY
Current classes: Spanish, Biology, Business Communications, and Word
Processing & Keyboarding.
2007 Western Connecticut State University Danbury, CT

2006-2007 University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, MA
Studied English, Business Management, Statistics, Physical Science, and
Sociology.
