power plant. Worked as Control room Operator and an Outside Operator at
three GWF sites.
Duties performed as Start-up Crewman: Interfaced between Plant Management,
Construction Companies, and startup management. Performed troubleshooting;
Blue print reading; Lockout tag-out safety procedures; Document
findings\results of completed work.
As "Control room Operator", duties consist of overseeing basic plant
operations and start-up\shut down procedures. Operations were done from our
control room with the aide of Bailey Net 9000 computer system. Constant
communications were maintained with outside operators and management.
Computers touch screens illustrated entire plant schematics by unit;
showing detailed design, and current readings in their specified probe
locations. Probes show; levels, temperatures, pressures and flows.
Document and log equipment readings and status, hourly. GWF sold power to
PG&E. As operator I was responsible for synchronization of the linking
process with PG&E and their grid.
As "Outside Operator", duties include; two preventative maintenance rounds
per shift, including: observing, reading, compiling and documenting data
of all plants instrumentation, equipment and systems operating.
Systems include: Condenser, Backup Diesel Generator, Plant Air and
Instrument Air Systems, De-Aerator, Electric Switch Gear, Transformers,
