James V. Ralston, PhD
Key architect of several major releases and several minor releases of global claims workflow system. Analyzed business
needs, designed functional solutions, developed process and system specifications (i.e., use case, screen designs,
functional specifications), designed test cases, and managed testing.
• First generation release of the workflow was integrated with an electronic document system and data warehouse. The
workflow and associated scanning systems replaced antiquated paper-based processes, and, for the first time, provided:
statistical transparency for management, coordinated claims review by dispersed colleagues, outsourcing of clerical tasks,
and savings via physical paper storage, The benefits of the pervasive impacts of this system are at $1M - $3M per year.
