OBJECTIVE: To find an opportunity that utilizes my biomedical science

knowledge and inter-personal skills towards growth of an organization and

my professional growth.

PROFILE: I am a diligent and highly motivated team player with extensive

research experience in molecular biology and biochemical techniques

including 6 years at the postdoctoral level focused on diabetes and female

reproduction using mammalian cell culture and knock out mice models. Proven

ability to execute a research project through various stages to a logical

conclusion with little or no supervision. My present position is an

Assistant Project Scientist, level II at the University of California, San

Diego.

RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Molecular Biology/ Biochemical techniques

Mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression, Transfections,

Cloning, mutagenesis, RNAi (siRNA knock down, shRNA knock down), RNA-DNA

extraction, PCR, genotyping, RT-PCR, Sybr green and Taqman Real-Time PCR

(Bio-Rad, MJ Research now Biorad, Applied Biosystems, Roche),

immunofluorescence, CHIP assays, immunoprecipitation, transfections,

lentivirus transfections, Western, blot, Northern blot, Southern blot,

radioimmunoassay, EIA, ELISA, dot-blot assays,

histology/immunohistochemistry, in vitro and in vivo imaging/microscopy

(brightfield, fluorescence/confocal), primary and mammalian cell based

assays, Multi-plex/Luminex assays (LH, FSH), RNA microarray (Affymetrix,

Nimbelgen), serum/plasma analysis, flow cytometry (FACS), Insulin Tolerance

Test (ITT), IPGTT, Creating conditional (pituitary/brain) knock-out mice,

Diet-induced obesity/diabetes mouse models (inflammation, diabetes), animal

surgery, primary cell cultures, and tissue extraction/gene expression, mice

fertility assessment. Protein characterization, Post translational

modification/phosphoprotein/glycosylation analysis, Size-exclusion/gel

filtration (SEC), Ion-exchange (IEX), affinity, hydrophobic interaction

(HIC), Expanded bed chromatography (EBAC), HPLC, GC, FPLC (AKTA) and

UV/Fluorescence spectroscopy, MALDI-TOF and 2D electrophoresis.

Additionally, I have been actively training my colleagues on various

techniques from scratch.
